We newly moved & my cat wont use the box anymore. never did this b4 in a minute. 1 time out of 10 he'll use it tho.why?
My cat is 3 years old and i've never had any problems like this next to him before. He has always used the box. We did freshly move to a new house but my other cat had no problem making the transition. The thing that's bothering me the most is that he'll stir all the way down the stairs, where the litter box is located, and relieve himself right subsequent to the box. He goes everywhere around the box, but hardly ever in it. I would've thought it be because it was a new house, but he has in actual fact gone in it a few times here and there. Also, one of the strangest things about it is that he'll urinate within the box, but when it comes to solids, he always goes around it. I'd say 9 times out of 10 he's going external of it. We tried the old box that has his scent in it; a strange box without a cover (the old one did have one);We even bought a tentative one, with a cover, (he actually prefers the covered ones. That's how we got him to shift into it at all).We tried putting 2 litter boxes in the house thinking that maybe he needed a new spot. He be fixed 2 years ago and he not spraying to mark his territory. We clean it out several times a daytime to make sure it isn't dirty and wont deter him because of the smell. I think we hold tried just about everything at this point. I don't know what else to do. I'm at my wits end and whether we can't find a solution soon, it will come to us having to find him a new home. I don't want to hold to do that. I love this cat and so do my children. It would break all of our hearts to have to see him move about. Is there ANYONE out there that can help me near this situation? Any suggestions will be very much welcomed. You would be saving my kinfolk a very badly broken heart if you can backing. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANSWERS YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE ME.

Hi! I'm so sorry to hear about your trouble! We just go through something similar with one of our cats & it's AWFUL! She used to pee ONLY on blankets or clothes. It didn't matter whether the beds be made, or the clothes were in the hamper. She'd a short time ago jump on up & go!
First...I would suggest taking the cat to the vet merely to make sure he doesn't have a bladder infection or something resembling that.
Second...I suggest buying something called a Feliway Diffuser. It's sort of like Febreze/Glade Plug-Ins apart from instead of putting out scents, it puts out cat pheromones. We were at our wit's end & this be our cat's last chance. Our Vet said to buy one for each room she urinates contained by (3 of ours!) so we had to buy 3. They are sort of expensive - about $30.00 each! Each videotape lasts about a month & the refills are something like $20.00. I am amazed that they actually work! During the month & a half we've used them, she has with the sole purpose went out of the box twice, and both times it was on towels that someone left on the bathroom floor. Before we started using them, she would progress out of the box everyday. I am so happy we got them, because I love my cat to death but I know how you grain about cleaning up pee all the time!! IT SUCKS!!
Here's a link to a website that have more information:

I didn't buy mine there, though. We bought ours at a local pet store. Oh - our vet said we need to use them for at least 4 months for some principle. (I don't really know how it works!) But it's worth it if we can keep her! I hope this helps.

He probably isn't used to the smells of the house. We have to place aluminum foil all around our cats litterbox, and he finally came around. Our cat enjoys going external nowadays
Answers: Litter box issues are by far the most complex and frustrating cases I deal with. You are scooping it many times a hours of daylight (smart) but are you actually washing it out atleast once a week? That can make a difference.
This is most potential an emotional issue so next time put his poop in the box whether and when you find it to remind him. It might take some time but I would like to think that this is not a promise breaker for rehoming him. I'd sugget putting a boot tray or something under the box if he insists on going outside of it to fashion it more sanitary.
If you haven't changed the soap you use to clean it or the litter itself then all I can propose is that it is behavioural and to let him get used to the new domestic and in the mean time, use the boot tray.
These are tough issues to be sure.
My cat also started doing that and it turned
out that she had a parasite. Before
you do anything else, take your cat to the vet for
a fecal test. Turns out my cats food have too much
fiber in it and she is now on prescription food but
she is well, relieved and using the box. Other things like
change in litter brand or food or apprehension
from a move can cause bad behavior. I think
your cat doesn't grain well. Book that appt. Asap
Good luck.
He could just be rebellious. not to articulate getting him checked out by a vet is a bad idea, because it's not. But my aunt had a cat that would conduct yourself up when he didn't like what she was doing. she wasn't giving him enough attention so he would poop external her bedroom door. LOL. It was funny for me, not for her. Make sure you are giving it special attention, cat's don't like redeploy.
