What do to almost my cat?
My cat is diabetic, and recently almost died due to diabetic shock, which means that he be given insulin when not eating. After we got him back from the veterinary hospital, he have been EXTREMELY annoying and destructive.
To get our attention, he'll knock things off of the counter. He just now broke my mom's salad bowl, which was extremely nice. He follows us around, and meows whenever we go into the bathroom, indicating he wants dampen. However, whenever we give him water, he doesn't drink it, and instead follows us out of the bathroom for food.
What do I do about this? Is near anything that I can do to stop his destructiveness and annoyingness?
Answers: He just wants attention since he had a traumatic experience. Maybe you should permit him drink water from the faucet. My cat likes to do that; it makes drinking the sea more fun. But you might want to use a filter on your faucet to filter out harsh minerals and stuff that are bad for cat's urinary tracts. Your cat had no model that your mom's salad bowl was extremely nice. Your cat thought it was ugly. Just kidding--he probably would enjoy pushed off an ugly rock if it have been there. My cat likes to push things stale the table to watch the things fall--kind of like David Letterman. It is just fun for them. Maybe he wants some extra playtime or new toys or oat grass. I think cats meowing when you run into another room and following you around is actually normal behavior for cats. Maybe he is feeling better and is immediately more interested in life? But if you focus he is being out of sorts, you can spray Feliway around the house or get a Feliway plug-in diffuser. You can get it at Petsmart, but it is cheaper at 1-8OO-petmeds when you buy the Feliway brand, not the ComfortZone beside Feliway brand.
