What do you nurture a cat you love?

I love my cat. I dont want to feed it crap food but the stuff I see in pet food isles is disgusting unless theres a brand I dont know about. She doesnt appear to like anything and I think she just eat cos she has to.
You're right-- most cat food (especially dry food) found at the supermarket or chain pet store is no good-- even so-called "premium" brands like Iams and Science Diet. Some pet store chains are in a minute carrying actual premium foods due to increased interest and customer knowledge (probably the result of the pet food recall). You can get Wellness brand at Petco now, and it is excellent. Petsmart carry Blue Buffalo, which is good as well, though not one I personally nurture.

If you have access to specialty pet stores, feed stores, or if you don't intellect ordering online (like from onlynaturalpet.com), then you have lots more option. I'm VERY choosy about what I'll buy for my cats, and the brands I like are Wellness, Evangers, Merrick, Innova, and Nature's Variety. Since your cat is a picky eater, I'd recommend trying Wellness Healthy Indulgence pouches or the Merrick can flavors. From conversations I've had at the feed store and reviews I've read, it seems that these are popular next to a lot of cats.
I love adjectives three of mine and here is what they get.

Horatio will eat only chicken so I run to ASDA and buy the value stuff in the freezer section and boil it for a few hours, cut it adjectives up, put it in baggies (portion size) tie them up and freeze them taking one out a day for him.

Serenity will only chomp through prawns so I take three of the really big ones out each day and cut them up for her at tea time.

Annie have no teeth and will only eat gourmet pate and this several times a morning. I only give her a bit at a time as she is tiny and her tum is fragile.

There are two types of kibble, one is natures one by purina and the other is Iams.

They adjectives have their tea at 4.30, Horatio in the conservatory, Serenity on the work table in the kitchen and Annie's bowl is on the floor so she doesnt own to worry about falling off anything.

Pampered yes they are.

Janet and Binky's Cat food chart

The first URL is written by a very knowledgeable veterinarian who is devoting her life to appropriate diets for cats.

The moment URL is a chart where you look up your cats food.
You want only canned food and big protein and low carbohydrate under 10%. Fish only occasionally like 1 collation a week as it has very little vitamins a cat needs and lots of phosphorous which is not dutiful for your cat.

A cat is an obligate carnivore which means they must eat protein and do not handle carbohydrates. Yes cats live on dry food but are never their full potential of on form. They also get crystals in the urinary tract, diabetes, kidney failure. repeated urinary tract infections and cystitis, and corpulence.

Now a million people and vets will tell you that cats requirement dry to clean there teeth. Where do they get this info? From pet food commercials and from vet who have had their nutrition classes given to them by the pet food companies who make money on dry - big time. It is cheap as it is made of spoiling fruits, veggies and wheat and rice and by products of meat and poor sources of meat. The cat should not hold all of the fruits and veggies. Have you ever seen a starving feral cat within someones garden nibbling on veggies in the garden and up their apple tree eating? They dry is big in carbs and they don't utilize carbs. Ever seen a lion chasing a bisquit or cookie?

Does Dry Food Clean the Teeth?
By Jean Hofve, DVM
Let's get this one straight once and for adjectives: dry food does not clean your cat's teeth! In fact, dry food really has no benefits for the cat. It is merely a convenience for the guardian. If you haven't already read "Why Cats Need Canned Food", that's a angelic place to start in your quest for accurate, up-to-date information on feeding cats.
Most cats don't consistently chew dry food; they swallow it whole. Obviously, in need contacting the teeth, there is zero effect on tartar heap. For cats who do chew dry food, whether consistently or occasionally, there is still little or no benefit. The kibbles shatter, so contact between the kibble and the teeth occurs only at the tips of the teeth. This is incontestably not enough to make a difference in the formation of tarasphalt and plaque, which most commonly builds up along (and underneath) the gumline at the base of the teeth.

So give your baby a biddable canned food chosen from the Janet and Binkys food chart ( the second url I gave you) It does not own to be expensive you can feed many of the friskies, whiskas and fancy feast can foods that are not in gravy. Just check the chart.

Please if you have any question email me. Good luck.

I gave my cat diabetes after feeding her canned next to gravy (gravy equals carbs) and lots of dry. I believe 100% that dry gave her diabetes.
I study cat health daily.

You have to find a balance. Between taking good safekeeping of your friend and your bank account, and between spoiling your cat because you want them to be happy, and feed them healthy because you want them to live long.

I spoil my cat a little with a mix of drizzling food and dry food, though I know the wet stuff isn't that great for him and can cause tooth decay.
We used to nurture a more expensive brand but then found out he loves loves loves meow mix, and it has the nutrients that are most important for him. He have maintained a healthy weight and have a great mood, so I guess we'll keep doing what we're doing.
Tuna, or get IAMs and put a short time bit of water in to soften it. It might be that she have a tooth ache.
THE GOOD LIFE! =] it's full of vitamins and minerals and my cat LOVES it. she eats plenty of it, but she doesn't get overweight.
I nurture mine "Nutro" and IAMS. They are both high quality foods and also include vegetables and vitamins that they need. Select the food that corresponds to the age, kitten, senior, etc. Mine also love "Friskies Cat Milk". They both grasp upset stomachs if they drink regular cows milk so the Friskies cat milk helps them with that. And unsurprisingly you love your cat and keep it inside as an indoor cat where they are safe and live long lives! My cats are 16 and 7 and I love them dearly and they never step out.
tired of seeing animal lovers spoiling their cats.. i used to see customers feeding their cat prawns !! lol and we feed ours whiskers brand.
On special occasion I give my cat tuna fish. She overly loves me for about a month after and it doesn't hurt her stomach which is fantastic because she have an extremely sensitive system
I feed my cats what the vet recommends, and the cats love it!
