What is making my kitten throw up?
I have a 7 month old tabby cat that I got from the Humane Society within June. Two months ago he started throwing up, and someone suggested that I change his food. I did, and he was fine, up until last week. Now he is throwing up again. He is otherwise on form, still runs around and plays like normal. Any idea what could be wrong?
He might have worms - I propose you get some Revolution from your vet and treat him with it. :) Otherwise - have you be feeding him milk? Some cats can't digest it. And he might also eat too fast as someone else pointed out. Ask your vet in the region of it!
Does he snarf down his food really quickly? For instance if it be dry food, does he swallow the kibble whole without chewing it? Eating too quickly can effect stomach upset and is most often the cause for why a cat throws up.
Just to be safe, though, I would purloin him to the vet. There are several protozoan parasites that can cause frequent vomiting in cats and they can own other more serious complications.
Answers: Cats can throw up because they enjoy a hairball or because they eat too fast.
Get some hairball medicine (comes within a tube like toothpaste) and follow the directions.
If you feed canned food they are really crazy approximately, they can eat too much and throw up. Or if you feed dry food, they may put away a lot of dry food, then drink water. That make the food in their stomach expand and they may throw up. To solve this problem, feed them a small portion of food, wait 15 minutes until they own eaten, then feed them the rest of the food.
Cats also seem to be to throw up as a recreational activity.
It could just be down to hairballs as others suggest - however in that can be many causes of kitten and cat vomiting. Some info at these links:
