What should i do next to my 15 week out-of-date boy cat? he keep terrorizing my other womanly mature cat. backing please? ?
my boy cat smokey keeps attaking my other cat,BG,because he realizes she has no front claws.BG never attacks him even though he is partly her size, but last time i saw it,smokey had his claws onto BG's face! i squirt him beside the spray bottle in the face every time i see him hurt her,and only when he is surrounded by the act. we are alo going to declaw his front claws.they are indoor cats. what else could i do??
Is he neuter? If not, that could be the source of his aggression. Cats can be very territorial and he may feel like your feminine cat is infringing on his space.
Declawing cats makes them mean, and is considered by many to be cruel. Why don't you trim his claws so they aren't sharp?
Because Smokey is still only a kitten, he will naturally be boisterous and play rough and tumble. All kittens do this at this age, but settle down as they get a bit elder. Also, neutering will make Smokey more easy going. Please don't declaw him. http://www.declawing.com/ Clip his nail to minimize his ability to scratch. http://www.declawing.com/htmls/trimming. He will poised down as he matures. Spraying him with water is one of the best ways to stop a cat from getting into repeating fruitless habits. When you're out of the house, just put both cats in separate rooms next to food, water, blankets and toys and allow them to mix and mingle when you're there. Also, whenever Smokey tries to play boisterously with BG distract him beside a cat toy you know he loves to play with.
Also, there are products like Feliway, which is a synthetic cat pheramone which help to calm stressed out cats. It comes in a pump spray or plug in difuser -
