Why are calico cats so overweight?
Ok I have a calico cat and she i very very big. Also adjectives the calico cats I have seen are fat so is it within there Gene or someing and yes i know that all calico cats are gilrs
None of my calico cats are fat, and they are free fed.
Perhaps the gene you see at work is near the pet owner who gives too many treats and other high calorie foods.
I enjoy multiple cats, but the only pattern I have famous is that tabby cats tend to be more on the smaller size.
My calico is very small. But she has put on the weight since I took her surrounded by. She was abandoned & lived on God knows what, her ribs be showing, she was a very pitiful looking cat now she is attractive. If you feed them dry food just give a handful 2-3 times a time. Don't fill up the bowl cause this will make them butter, no matter what breed they are.
It may be what you're feeding them. I had a calico for 23 years and the most she ever weighed be 6 pounds. She was a very petite kitty.
Because you over feed her. Think about it, cats have no where on earth to go and no one to impress. What is to stop them from eating whether you won't?
I think it's the owners irresponsibly feeding them.

Answers: You are right it is a gene that their breed has. It is also due to pet owners overfeeding them, cats don't want a lot of food just one cup of dry food a day should do them other.
