All cats go into trees. Even domesticated cats. They do it because even though they have small brains, they are smart ample to know that their pray won't look in a tree for a hungry cat ready to pounce on and devour them.

All cats go up into trees including domesticated cats. It is in their blood to escape vulnerability, take their young to safety and bring their food to a spot where on earth other felines cant get to it.

Cougars, Jaguars, Cheetahs all will climb surrounded by trees. Some don't climb high, some do. The cheetahs can't climb too high as their claws are not retractable - they stay out like a dog's.
