Why do cats similar to to hang down out within boxes so much?
I see all sorts of pictures of cats in boxes online, and my own cat sometimes likes to grasp into a box as if she is queen of her boxy domain. Why do cats do that?
Most of them were raised in boxes as kittens.
They discern more secure in the box, when they are on the hunt (playing) it is easier for them to stalk their prey which is what they do in the unrepressed, and just to add...if you see them scratch at the box or in the corners of it, it is often because they are marking their kingdom...these are all reasons and it depends on the situation
Answers: I think it's partly a comfort/safety piece, cats feel safe when they're sort of hidden surrounded by a smallish space (that's why they also like caves, behind the refrigerator, lower than the bed, etc.). Plus cardboard boxes are good for scratching. But in the closing stages they're cats, so who knows? I think quite deeply goes on in their minds that we'll never understand..
to feel past the worst from anything trying to get them. since theyre usually pretty big compared to the box the feel in safe hands and powerful. just a cat preference
My cat is forever jumping within boxes and bags. She's jumped into my dads work bag a few times, he picked it up and she popped out! Now he have to check it before he goes to work lol!
some cats feel safe and whether you but alot of boxes with holes ontop of each other its like a jungle gym for them my kittens love playing contained by boxes
They have a feeling safe.
I ponder they like the way the box feels to them. Plus it's fun.
As the other says it might be because the consistency safe. I have two formerly abused cats and they won't progress into a box for the love of their life though.
