Why does my cat move her food tray?
My cat's food/water dish sits on a clear tray. Everyday (not when she is eating, other random times) she will paw at the tray that her dishes are on until she moves the tray, with the dishes around the floor of the room. Its not necessarily annoying except her water spills every where. Does anyone know why she would be doing this?
As a little more information within case it helps, she is a 1 1/2 year old, indoor cat. Her food is surrounded by the kitchen (very large) and off to the side so that she has her own area to get through and not be interrupted.
she could just be bored. indoor cats tend to return with bored easier than out door cats. try getting her some other toys to play with. if she keep playing beside the dishes she just likes to play with them.
Honestly she probably just likes playing with it. Maybe buy her a couple unusual toys. Get her interested in something else. But she'll probably keep doing it.

Answers: Cats have a lot of curiosity - maybe she wishes to know what's underneath the bowl. Maybe she's just having fun and it entertains her. Just adopt the crazy things that your cat does, and take steps to prevent things that the cat does that bother you.
I've learned with cats, that you may never really infer them. Just accept that that's the way it is and deal next to it. Cats are strange.
