Why doesn't my cat close to to be held surrounded by constant ways?
So, my cat loves to be held. She will jump into my lap/arms all the time. a lot of times she'll lay her principal over my should as I hold her in my arms, it's the cutest thing. BUT something weird happen..when I kind of flip her over and hold her in my arms like you hold a baby(belly up) she starts to meow, hiss and bite me. I recognize, now, that she doesn't like to be held like this. but why?? As soon as I flip her put a bet on over, she's calm and docile again. Could it be hurting her?
Maybe she feels vunerable or she just doesn't like to be upside down
I doubt that it is hurting her. Most promising it is simply that she doesn't like it. I have two cats. One of which likes man held constantly, and love being held like a baby. The other is held solitary on his terms and never upside down. The reason is very simple, when the cat is held adjectives it is still in control and can get away at any time whether it chooses, when held upside down it feels trapped, like you are pinning it down, this is why it fights. If you want to, ask your vet to check out your cat's spine subsequent time you visit, just in grip there is a problem, but I doubt there will be anything wrong.
Some of my cats were the same way. It only not a natural position for cat to be in, unless they're under the influence of cat-nip or have their belly rubbed.
The most vulnerable position is on the cats wager on. If you bring up a kitten and held like this and rub the belly. You can add to the bonding next to the kitten although you do end up with a cat that wants it's stomach rubbed every five minutes. I brought my cat like this and if he's in anther room sleeping and I bearing in the first thing he does is roll on his back until he get a belly rub. Then of course there have to be some form of trust with the kitten first so it may not work for all.
your cat just does not like that position. so don't put her contained by that position if she doesn't like it. every cat is different.
Because she is losing control- when cats do not feel like they can freely move they feel threatened. Most want to ALWAYS be certain they have a way out in suitcase they feel the need to hide. It is intuition.
When they are falling they flip over... so tummy up is a vounerable state.
She just have a preference! NO TUMMY UP hold!
I have one cat that loves to lay on her back 2 that never would do that.
Your not hurting her... she's ROYALTY... and specifically an undignified position for a cat! >^..^<
Holding a cat upside down like a baby is a intimidating position. She doesn't get the impression secure. This is a very natural recoil to feeling threatend.
duh yes
Maybe she ddoesn'tlike to be held, she could feel dizzy contained by the situation
Some cats just don't similar to it. My one cat doesn't like to be held or picked up at all. She will come to me and jump on my knees to be petted but only on her terms. My other cat you can pick up, toss her on the sofa and she sometimes will let me hold her stomach side up only for a little while. She loves being held. Cats are picky and you will cram what yours likes and doesn't like.
yes, cats are sensitive and picky.
Answers: it's a vulnerable position for animals to be in, terribly submissive to expose your soft belly parts. Also, it's not really a natural position when you're holding the cat, so maybe she's basically uncomfortable. cats like people and dogs hold personalities, some are more dominant than others.
but if she appears to be in any great strain or discomfort, have a vet check her out just to be safe.
Take her to the Vet sounds resembling she has a bad back a vet can check her out and enlighten you and what can be done to help her.
