Why isn't within mouse-flavored cat food?
David,
If there was a market for mouse-flavored cat food, you can bet some cat food company would hop on the bandwagon immediately.
While it is possible to make an "artificially" flavored cat food, I would think that only the idea of a product like this would not be appealing to many cat owners, as the thought of have mouse-flavored food would be a real turn off. Many people do not appreciate mice within any capacity.

This is a cross-examine which has been asked for ages, by the way, but so far no company have taken that step, thankfully.

1. Cats actually prefer other flavors over mice. Feral cats eat them because they're a readily available and somewhat straightforward to obtain source of much needed protein. Domestic cats typically don't eat them. If you put a dead mouse and a piece of chicken down, a cat would munch through the chicken first.
2. Even pet foods and what goes into them is regulated. There currently aren't any regulations governing the breeding and slaughter of mice for the purpose of making cat food. A whole new set of regulations would enjoy to be made around the industry, and people would need to be willing to setup mouse farm to make the food. The sheer volume of mice needed to make a single meal for a cat after processing would not product it a very worthwhile prospect.
3. Cat foods are not marketed to cats, they're marketed to nation. Most people would be turned off by the idea of purchasing baked rodent for their little fur babies. There own actually been surveys on the matter and the results own indicated as much.
wow, your merely full of questions arn't cha? Maybe there is, try a taste try-out and see, get yourself a mouse, give it a lick, then try the cat food. Or, to retrieve time, and your tummy, ask a kitty =)
It would take way too several mice to make the food, and I'd imagine the bones are too hard to remove.
The full cats loving mouse thing is something that was exaggerated on by tv - they really don't think mouse is totally awesome, any more than they resembling chicken or turkey or whatever. Just like mice don't really like cheese much.
Cuz they taste like chicken
I don't know. There should be though because cats love mice. And it would encourage them to eat more. But it might be a bit hard to cause cat food mouse flavoured.
Answers: I don't know. Thats a good question.
All I can really say is that my cat doesn't close to mice. It likes birds. But not mice. Squirrels even. But mice... No.
I don't know if every bodies cat is like this but my cat like to play with mice until they die. So I doubt he'd eat mice flavored cat food.
They probably even tried to make that type of cat food and found that possibly 2 out of 10 cats actually ate it.
And I'm pretty sure mice carry like mad of diseases.

LOL this question made me laugh! I bet there will be animal cruelty involved whether there was mouse cat food, LOTS of mice would have to kill :(
