Yesterday's News Cat Litter? Bad odor control.?

So I switched my kitten to this litter because it's what the Petsmart employee recommended after me complaining about other litters being awfully dusty, treated with chemicals, and bad odor control. I switched w/o mixing with the feeble litter (didn't think of it until too late) and, it took her awhile, but she's finally using it but it doesn't clump or anything. But this stuff has HORRIBLE odor control. Her room smelled so badly of feces and urine. Any others have this problem and what brand do you recommend that's low on dust, very good with odor control, and chemical-free? I've hear of Swheat Scoop but haven't tried it yet.
Try World's Best. It scoop nicely, has pretty good odor control, and isn't dusty approaching the regular clumping ones. And it's chemical free.
We just bought the biggest box we could find in Costco; we also had a covered cat box next to a swinging door. Cleaned it out everyday. I, also, had a problem with dusty paw prints - I went to a hearth rug store and bought some small samples to put the cat box on so that the cat had to 'wipe his paws' on the way within and out. Get the 'clumping' kind
Answers:    Swheat scoop is great! Feline Pine is OK too but can cause allergies near some cats. My friends cat died because her cat ingested too much clay (scooping) cat litter. Just from licking its paws after going to the litter box, the cat would eat a little of the litter at a time by stroke of luck. The clay bound up in its stomach and killed it. She uses Swheat scoop presently as a result and loves it.
there's a new Purina breeze cat litter box. pee and poop are separated so less smell. It have big pellet like yesterdays news cat litter so there no/little dust.

I recommend not shopping at Petsmart or Petco. They neglect and abuse the small animals that they get rid of, and you shouldn't be supporting chain companies like that anyway. A local pet store should hold just as much of a selection and probably for more discounted prices.

And, as you're finding out, the employees don't know anything nearly the products they're recommending.
New kitten...should I be worried?   How do you hold/carry a cat contained by the right road?   Question just about Bio-Spot Flea Dip?   My kitty is 6 months outmoded, and lately she have be grab the fold of her wet bowl and flipping it over! ?
