10-11 year antediluvian chow/collie mix who coughs, wheeze, throws up?
She is a full-time outdoor dog and we live in a rainy climate with slugs that I meditate she might have eaten one or two recently that be in her food bowl. Anyways, she coughs and wheezes and throws up a white mixture, which she sometimes eats again? whether this is heart worm, how can I treat it?
Don't think it was a slug. Mollusks are without blemish edible...some people eat banana slugs, snails , and to be sure shellfish which are related.
She's old enough to be having some congestive heart downfall.
Heart worm has to be treated by a vet, it's terribly serious.
She could also just hold strep throat, bronchitas , or kennel cough and need an antibiotic.
Or she could have injested or breathed something toxic.
This is worth going to the vet with, a blood question paper, a look down her throat, and he can guess a lot bettter than we can.
YOU can't treat heartworm beside any over the counter stuff. You need to take the dog to the Vet for a blood test. If it comes final positive, the Vet will give you the proper prescription for the treatment. The dog will have to be brought indoors and kept quiet near the treatment. If your dog is an outdoor dog, and you live in a rainy climate, there are probably thousands of mosquitos surrounded by your area. This is how a dog gets heartworm. If the dog is on a year round heartworm preventative, it could be congestive heart failure. Slugs contained by the dog food bowl.doesn't sound like this dog is receiving any proper thought, at all.
Its not a slug, she needs to see her veterinarian.
May very easily be heartworms and clearly sounds like it is. To treat her she will need to go to the vet and hold a test done to find out if it is heartworms and to see just how bleak they are. She will need to be at the vets office for around a week. She will get one shot on day one in her stern right between the discs of her spine. The second day she will get another shot on the disparate side of her spine. She will need to stay there a couple days after the second shot to be watch very closely for a bad reaction.
Then you will cart her home keep her still and quiet(crate rest) for 30 days at which time you will return to the vets bureau for an oral medication and leave her there all morning then pick her up and go home. Take her BACK to the vet contained by one week to do a test and make sure it is distrustful
Answers: Heart worm cough sounds kind of like a goose honk. The dog would have to be tested (by blood sample). If the dog have heart worms, the treatment is done by veterinarian only. After the treatment, the dog must me confined for at least a month. The heartworms will be dieing, breaking off, and going through the blood stream. It is prominent for the dog to be as calm as possible during this time. There is a serious chance of a heartworm clot. I hope you will have her to the vet as soon as possible.
if you felt resembling this what would you do?
you would go to a docs
i would say go see a vet
