10-year-old malamute urinating lacking knowing it?

My malamute has never had an accident inside. She is the clearly potty trained big girl. I have walked into a room and she's just standing here as though nothings going on and urine will just be pouring out of her. Any idea what is going on with her? I thought I'd put this out to you since I take her in to be checked, just out of curiousity. She have arthritis, weighs 120 lbs., and is very difficult to get into any of my vehicle (which makes visiting the vet really tough). Thank you for your insights.
Is she spayed? I ask because it could be spay incontinence, it normally happens with our older dogs? If not spayed next she has a urinary tract infection and she needs antibiotics. Both of these situations are easily remedied, she freshly needs the right medication.

Don't delay in taking her to the vet.
10 years of age make a dog a senior citizen, so she may have a problem with her bladder. You have to remember as we age things start to stir and she may have lost bladder control. You should take her to the vet and they may have you switch her food to Hill Science Diet for bladder control Just remember to do a gradual correction over and not just take her off her regular food and put her strictly on that adjectives at once or it may cause her digestive problems.
Answers:    It sounds as if she is due for a senior checkup besides - but the possibilities are...

A urinary tract infection - take a very fresh urine sample when you step to the vet for testing. That would just mean antibiotics.

Urinary incontinence- abundant females, especially older, spayed females, lose their capacity to control urinary output. The remedy is a each day pill, for life.

Pinched nerve/arthritis in spine- further treatment necessary, but the smaller amount likely of the possibilities. My money's on the first two.

Have your vet check her body condition - if she can lose any weight and still remain decent, it would help her arthritis immensely. By the same token, you should ask if she could soundly take fish oil capsules - the omega 3 act as a powerful anti-inflammatory, and can sometime take the place of some of the NSAIDs we would otherwise give an arthritic dog.

If your dog is on NSAIDs such as rimadyl, Metacam, Deramaxx, have her liver function tested *often* - these drugs can be wonderful for their mobility, but they can also smash up their liver and must be watched very carefully. A minimum of 6 months is recommended.
Is she spayed? I've have dogs like that in the past and one immediately. There is medication available that sometimes helps. The "doggie diapers" are a joke, and don't stay on.

I have a jack that is to say 11 years old, and pees in her sleep sometimes. It's gotten so I don't let her enjoy access to water after 6 pm. I have also bought waterproof babe-in-arms pads (for babies cribs) and lined her bed with them. It really cuts down on laundry.

It's sucks when they start getting weak. No fun. Remember, she's 10 years old, and for a large dog, that's pretty good. Enjoy her while you can.
she might have a bladder or kidney infection so go to the vet and procure a little kit to collect urine and afterwards take it in and have it checked out for any germs that meds can clear up.there are many things that can cause it along near arthrtis and pain or even sugar problems.a fallen bladder might be the problem but take within a sample to find out and if nothing shows u will hold to bring her in for tests. good luck
Could of late be old age, 10 is old for a big dog such as a malamute, but I think it's still something that should be checked out by the vet. Loss of bladder control isn't strange for old dogs, but it's something your vet needs to know about.
