12hr drive near 2 dogs! Help please?

So i'm going on a 12hr drive with 2 dogs small in size but i don't really know what to do it's my first road trip and one of my dogs loves going for ride but gets saloon sick after about 2hrs or so. So aside from food and toys what should i do what should i bring. and is there something i can give my dog to back with car sickness.
Hi,

Try these tips:

1. Take rest stops. You know your pet best--learn his signs of motion sickness and stop accordingly. Some dogs travel fine for hours; others requirement to stop frequently.

2. Open the window enough so your dog can take within some fresh air, but not so much that he can jump or fall out of the pane.

3. Letting your dog ride up front can help, since there's less movement. Be sure he's strapped contained by with a dog safety belt. Some travel kennels also buckle in.

Some dog who suffer from car sickness do better whether put in a carrier or crate. You could try this. Also, do not feed your dogs prior to any trip. This will solely cause them to get more sick. Take water next to you to give them on rest stops and try to stop every 90 minutes to two hours for a run and potty breaks. I travel with my dog all the time and he really enjoy the stops. It helps break up the trip and gives him something to explore for awhile. It may make the trip longer but it will generate it much more enjoyable for your pet. Check with your vet on medication for car sickness, he should be capable of help with that.
They will be ok but only careful cause they may need some nouns and put their head outside
Ask your vet about acepromazine, it will give relief from the vomiting and relax the dog. It does though make happen side effects. You can also ask your vet about Benadryl. Do not feed the morning of the trip and try to get him as used to the motor as you can in the days prior. Good luck!

PS Acepromazine should not be used in boxers.
I'll also be taking my FIRST car ride beside my Husky Mix for the Christmas Holidays! :)

I'm so excited LOL

I've done some research & everything generally says:

-to prepare your pet for a long ride by taking several few ones beforehand
-feed your dog lightly previously the trip
-take fresh water
-take a copy of your dogs' health records & include a recent photo
-make certain your pet has ID tags
-get your pet examined before the trip to gross sure he is in good vigour
You can get metoclopramide from your vet. That will solve the car sickness. Ginger biscuits or ginger travel sickness tablets might work.
Answers:    Those are all great hours but they are lost one very important thing. I just now did a road trip from south dakota to Virginia (27 hours) with 2 dogs, a Husky and (god help us) a Jack russel Terror.. The best thing to do is to save your dogs up as much as possible the night before, this will help insure they sleep and avoid meds that are costly and sometimes own side effects. My wife and i kept the dogs up the night before we left and took them on a pace before we got in the coup¨¦. after about an horu both slept like furry babies for most f the tripm then woke up and peed and be more than happy to go back to sleep. you'll be fine purloin breaks and use a large tupperware for water so they dont spill it.
go see your vet and they hav saloon sick tablets for your pet.
