2 1/2 week elderly puppy next to diarrhea?
If Im not mistaken this is pretty normal. I grabbed behind nape of d¨Ścolletage and skin returns pretty good. It doesnt return like my adult dog though. Can you bottle nurture water to a puppy this age? Or will they even drink it? I tried to bottle feed esbilac and some of them drank a little but werent really excited give or take a few it. No replacing mom's milk.
Pups shouldn't have diarrhea. Their stool is yellow and looks something resembling a string of curdled cottage cheese. If they have diarrhea, I think something is wrong and they need to see the vet.
What happen to the mother. You shouldn't need to feed if she is doing it.
Diarrhea isn't necessarily indicative of a major problem, but it's definitely not usual for any dog. As for parvo virus, assuming the dam was carrying a high titer the pup should be satisfactorily protected right now, but I wouldn't bet on it. Is this just one puppy or is it in a litter? If the rest of the litter is fine and freshly one pup has diarrhea, the pup may be sick and I'd take it to a Vet. Is it with its embankment or are you hand raising it? Does it need superfluous probiotics? If you have only one pup (for whatever reason) you want to look at WHAT it's eating, how OFTEN it's eating and how MUCH it's eating. The wrong food, food too commonly, too much food... could cause diarrhea. As for hydration, IF you think the pup needs supplementation, you COULD bottle nurture, but personally I'd be afraid of aspiration/pneumonia. It would be safer if your Vet could teach you how to afford fluids sub Q.

worming?Lets make sure in that are worms there first.EVERY stool sample I have taken surrounded by has been NEGATIVE for my chihuahua litters, therefore, they don't gain any worm medication. Now that I have THAT out, lol.are they still drinking from the mother? If so,I wouldn't give them any water however. Then again,a litter of Shar Peis I currently have, the mom decided at 2 weeks old,she be done feeding them, and they were on their own. They gobbled can Pedigree, lamb and rice and water like they had be eating for weeks.Maybe it's the change in the weather?Stress of any features can cause this too.
Yeah, you can bottle feed him/her. Go to petsmart and buy the milk formula, in there you will find the bottle too. You'll be fine...merely remember to feed it like every 2-3 hours so that their blood sugar doesn't drop. You're right about the deworming (it is at 3 weeks old) they go the stuff to do it there your self too- or to be safe you can just enjoy the vet do it. My suggestion and preference would be for the vet to do it...this way you can keep weekly record of his shots...if you do them at home, no doctor will adopt your word later on..they only accept history from doctors. As for the diarrhea...I'm not sure. I'm thinking maybe because you switched him from his mom's milk to some other kind of milk? Change contained by food will always cause a change within their stool. So long as there is no blood or worms (keep a very VERY open eye for this, as it could indicate the puppy have parvo or another deadly disease.)
it could be that you changed its diet similar to moved it from milk to food or something , yeah you can bottle feed it , that might help
Answers: I was in the same situation, my 3 wk dated puppy needed to be bottle fed and she had bad diarrhea. I took her to the vet and I found out that I be feeding her the wrong formula. I fed Esbilac goat milk and it was too metallic for her system. There are 2 choices you need the other one. You should still call the vet to be on the safe side. Tell him precisely what you are feeding the puppy and make sure it is the right piece, and rule out viruses. Good Luck!
lift to the vet to be safe. they are extremely open to parvo at that age and could die very like lightning. don't risk it.
If the mother still feeds adjectives of them, don't interfere. I think it could either be worms, or it could be caused by you interfering using non mothers milk.
GO TO THE VET,,, you should be worming them now anyway,,,, geez , yet another BYB
