6mnth out-of-date puppy need abortion, is it a honest remedy?
We have a Maltese Terrier that my sisters friend gave her to mind, but afterwards she let her keep it. My sister has not be round to get her spayed as she wasnt alloud when minding her (she had been for 5 MONTHS since angel be 4 weeks) anyway, angel came into heat something like 2 and a half weeks ago, when my sister was walking angel someones dog at the park kept following them, my sister shooed it away, when she be talking to her friend she didnt notice the dog mount angel, and there be an instant lock, my sister panicked, she never seen something like this b4, and angel yelp, she called me over and when i got there the dogs be tied in the middle of the par ppl round came trying to help, besides finally they got free, and we have made an appointment for friday for an abortion reccomended by our vet. Now my question is "do you know the side affect of this injection, it have to be taken 2 times 24hrs apart"...if your a vet if u no anything bout this injection plz notify me...thankx.
She requirements to be spayed. Forget wasting money on an injection.
Especially since she is a mix, there is no point in bringing more puppies into the world unless you are a reputable ethical breeder, creating quality pups. Each year over 5 million are kill because they aren't able to find homes.
I have some experience here. If you don't want puppies the yes get the shot. It will however start her cycle from the start again and you will still own to watch her. Please try to be more vigilant when taking her out as to avoid this again. It is only common courtesy and responsible pet ownership to not lug your dog to a public park when she's in heat. The shot is a hormone shot and not toxic if given by your vet. I would recommend doing it.
A vet is the best personage to answer this question, and an amateur chat forum is probably not.
There are side effects to this shot, many vets won't even use them (mine won't) Just enjoy her spayed, both problems would be eliminated. Don't even consider allowing her to keep the puppies, at 6mos old she is too not fully formed and it would place a great deal of stress on her. OF course she could die delivering them or with post-birth complications
There are side effects to the injection. I know of a female that concluded up with a uterine infection & had to be spayed anyways. Personally, I'd just budge with a spay.
What on earth was a dog doing absent from it's mother at 4 weeks of age?
A ** should never be allowed to be near dogs, especially in a park, when she is contained by season. Through your sisters ignorance your dog is now going to go through a traumatic experience.
I honestly wouldn't walk for the shot. I would suggest having her spayed they will remove the uterus that holds the pups and that would do an abortion as weel as having her spayed and you won't enjoy to ever worry about this happening again.
In the long run it would be in good health for teh dog and easier to do all at once.
Just spay the b*tch. Much, MUCH less dangerous and greatly less of a chance of causing a vivacity threatening uterine infection (pyometra).
Answers: I agree a vet would be the best one to answer, and I own no first hand knowlege. But, I do know someone who was considering this for her one show dog, because of an early pairing. However, due the side effects, she settled not to use it. I can not remember what they were, possible sterilization or birth defects surrounded by future litters. Like I said, I really have no experience with this, simply going on what I was told. I just know she made the decision to not abort whether there were puppies. In her case, she get lucky, they did not take.
Now, the real question is, whether she has been minding this pup for 5 months, where is her solid owner, I would consider the dog yours by default. And, I feel she should be spayed. If the real owner does not want to step forward and pilfer care of his or her dog, your sister has to make some decision that are in the best interest of the dog, not the missing owner. Again, my thoughts, spay her, there are too lots homeless dogs in the world already.
this is so discontented. very irresponsible! the sister has no buisness owning a dog. hope she never has a kid.
Could the vet just go ahead and spay her? That would take concern of the puppies and any future problems. Six months should be old enough for a spay.
