They start at birth. You may not notice it while their eyes are closed since the mother cleans them.
they go to the bathroom from the time they are born but momma usually cleans it up. If you are bottle feed young puppies then you have to stroke like the mom and use a warm clothes and rub their little bottoms for them to go...when momma lick and cleans them she stimulates them to go.
Answers: Should be immediately after birth and nursing on the mom.
