Number one tip on buying a dog brand name sure your ready for it and that its from a breeder. pet shop dogs usually hold a health problem or don't have all the shots they should own or there mother wasn't kept for properly. second if you google national breeders of America or something similar to that there should be a website where all you own to do is chose your breed your area and then call

Answers:    Contact the Breed Club for a breeder referral. http://www.basset-bhca.org/ There is information on the site, too, about choosing a honest breeder and recommended health testing for the breed. Do your research, ask to see health screening results, and look for the right puppy, not the 'right now' puppy. You want a nutritious, happy companion from a supportive breeder because it will hopefully be a member of your family for a long long time. So, be merciful and realize that you will more than likely need to wait for the right puppy to come along. Good luck!
