Cavalier king charles spaniel OR Dachshund.?

I may be getting one of these dog. and both fit my lfe perfectly.
I just dont know which one is better.
So could you pick one breed of these and why.

I dont need crap approaching " It depends on your lifestyle"
okay. If your going to say stuff like that, dont say anything at.
I own already done reasearch and stuff, so PLEASE dont say that.
I would say aloud cavalier king charles spaniel. Why not the dachshund, because they bark a lot! Haha, our neighbor had one and it never would shut up. So, it have really changed my opinion about them! :]]
How much money can you put towards vet bills? Dachshunds tend to end up beside such things as hip displaysia and ruptured discs in their spines because of their body design. If you have stairs in your house, a dachshund probably isn't a dog for you, because they should not budge up and down stairs, as it is very hard on their little backs. Dachshunds are also terribly active dogs, so you need to make certain that you have enough time to play with and exercise the dog.

Cavalier King Charles spaniels call for much more grooming, so if you choose the spaniel, make sure you enjoy the time and proper tools to groom your dog, or else you will have to take him to the groomer nearly once a month, which usually costs around $50.

As far as trainability goes, spaniels are more easily trained. They would be the smarter breed of the two. Dachshunds are also impressively stubborn and often will not cooperate, simply because they don't want to.

Don't get me wrong, I love Dachshunds (my boyfriend has a dachshund mix), and King Charles spaniels (some of my favorite customers enjoy lovely King Charles spaniels), but they're not dogs for everyone.
The spaniel. They are cuter and weiner dogs are ugly. Lol.

lets see king charles need 2 B groomed every 6 weeks, brushed every morning, etc...dachshunds are less high maintence sometimes a little more aggressive, King Charles are merely like cocker spaniels skin problems ear infections eye problems.etc...dachshunds I haven't seen 2 many problems beside. If u want less shedding go with the cavalier, the longer the coat the less the shedding. Its all in how economically they are takin care of. Its ur decision. Not anyone elses.
Let me put it this way. I have Cavaliers and my co-worker has a Dachshund. We keep hold of both our dogs together tethered behind the counter at the pet store we work at. Any time a dog walks by the Dachshund barks aggressively and charges after it. My dog which is a Cavalier a moment ago stands there wagging their tail trying to figure out what the Dachshund is bark at. If anyone she doesn't know attempts to walk behind the counter she charges at them attempting to bite them acting like a guard do going after their ankles. Again my Cavalier a moment ago stands next the the Dachshund wagging their tail still trying to figure out why the Dachshund is bark. Sometimes the Dachshund has even snapped at my dog out of fustration because she couldn't get to the dog that was walking by. I enjoy 6 Cavaliers and trade off who i take to work and each of my Cavaliers other look at the Dachshund as if she nuts whenever she acts up.

So if i be you I'd get a Cavalier King Charles spaniel. They have such a more easy going temperament. They don't own an aggressive bone in their body unlike the Dachshund.

I have even gone to AKC dog shows and have walk by Dachshunds that are in a crate while walking my dogs next to them and they bark at my dogs. And again my dogs don't ever counter.

Today i was even at the Farmers market and walked by a restaurant where on earth someone was eating outside and they have a long Haired Dachshund. As my dogs walked by the Dachshund barked and charged after my dogs. Again all my dogs merely walked past the dog looked at it as if it be nuts. Not even reacting to the crazy dog.
The Dachshund tend to be more aggressive or so i have see because my neighbors have 3 and when ever they get the chance they are other biting other dogs but I would guess that would depend on the dog.
The Cavailer is the dog for you if you want unconditional love, and a dog that always wants to be beside you. They are a great breed and very easy keepers adjectives they want is to be with you.
Here are videos describing the personality of both.

Answers:    I love Dachshunds, especially miniature ones, but they very commonly hold back problems, and it's not anything you can control. The chances are worse whether you let the dog get overweight, or if the dog does masses stairs and puts stress on its back, but it can also be very susceptible without any of these factor present. The dog can have disc problems that require surgery. This is common in long back dogs, I have a Welsh Corgi that had to have surgery for this problem and is currently recovering (he is just 6 and they generally live to be 12-15)

I'm not sure about King Charles spaniels, but I do know that this problem near Dachshunds is extremely common. Hope this helps.
I just got a mini dachshund 3 weeks ago. She is 11 weeks old very soon.

I was always told that they are hard to train, but she is virtually potty trained already.

I've heard that they are stubborn, I've seen it in my puppy, but she normally does what I tell her anyways. She's very good.

I have an idea that they are unique and adorable dogs.

I know a great breeder that sells them from 200-225. Let me know if you are interested.

And I hope I help you as well. =D
CKCS are great dogs and so are Doxies the CKCS have more hair and will have to be brushed and combed on a regular basis but they are really laid final pets. The Doxie if it is a short coat less grooming a long coat and you will have to brush and comb it.Now the CKCS I guess is a little more relaxed then the Doxie who are breed to catch rodents so they can be more stirring pets.Good Luck
I LIKE A DASHUND BECAUSE SPANIELS CAN BE MEAN IT IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE KIND OF DAUSHUND I WOULD RECOMEND A LONG HAIR THATS WHAT I HAVE AND IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE DASHUND DO A TEST ON ALERTNESS LIKE SNAP YOU FINGERS AND IF THEY DONT LOOK DONT GET IT THAT KINDA STUFF I THINK IT IS BETTER TO HAVE AN ALERT DOG DONT LISTEN BECAUSE A DOG MIGHT BE UGLY WHICH DASHUNDS ARENT THEY ARE ACTUALLY NICER AND CUDDLIER

DASHUND ARE THE BESTEST
definetaly the cavalier king charles spaniel!I was watching "Dogs 101" yesterday on the TV on animal planet, and they said that cavaliers are one of the best family dogs that you can capture
Hope this helps ,hope you give me 10 pts for the best answer
Neither of the breeds are better than the other. It depends on personal opinion/preference

If they're both suited for you, then choose which one you like best, not which one other people close to best.
dachshunds are so playful and love people my friends have some for a while they were the best. charles, well, I always thought they be real mellow and a little boring but dachshunds would make an awesome dog I love them but thats my judgment
i like both-
but king charles' eyes sometimes get buggy as they catch older

i would say go to a shelter and rescue a mix that is to say around the same size as the two dogs you are looking at
hi,

hope this helps.
Dachshunds tend to have a great deal more behavioral issues and while Cavaliers make excellent pets, they also have a LOT of health problems
i suppose that it depends on the amount of time you have to brush your dog cavalier king charles spaniels enjoy long hair and need brushing everyday, whereas with datschounds you can receive a short haired one which won't need brushing at all, but if you do enjoy time to brush there are long haired datschounds too. perhaps looking up ailments that each breed is prone to will relief you make a decision.
