Do You Think Its Racist?
so i have a rottweiler mix and we named her Negra(<<spanish) meaning Black contained by english. so i live in a african american neighborhood in florida.great neighborhood by the way.in recent times a couple minutes ago i called her name out to come in and powerfully there were a couple of young Lady's walking by my house and they looked final and started dissing me calling me white trash and stupid.im sorry but i had to laugh at them i be only calling my dog.lol.has anything like this ever develop to you?
very well, i just went outside and yell ( im serious) and from a distance it sounds like the n word. Maybe she thought you were calling her that.
I would suggest shifting her name.You really are asking for trouble if you go out surrounded by the neighborhood and call out such a name.People really should think beforehand they name their dog.Try out a name and see how it sounds yelling it to catch a dog to come to you .Some are down right embarrassing, silly or in this grip a demeaning sounding name.Also by laughing at them it made it look like you meant to telephone call that person a name.
Answers: Rename the dog. It's not your fault, and it's not a racist name, but we live in a society where on earth perfectly innocent words become racist just because they nouns that way. (For example, there was a big fuss several years ago when someone at a university used the word "***," which vehicle cheap, to describe something. The word has absolutely no connection to the racist "n" word, but the officer got in big trouble anyway.) Don't risk have someone hear it the wrong way and conclude you're racist. It won't take the dog long to memorize its new name. Good luck!
lol, sry you may want to rename your dog, the name it's self isn't bad but whether you hear it wrong it could really offend someone, pick a similar sounding name or give her a safer gash name you can use,
ex: baby, girl... call her what every you want inside.
