Does my dog know the fresh dog is still a puppy?

About two weeks ago we got a 5 month old puppy. My dog is three years old already and she spayed and never have pups. At the beginning they wouldnt get along but now they do. They're other playing around, chasing each other, etc. Sometimes I see her bite him but I noticed that she does it softly. He can put his paw in her mouth but wont hurt him. Is she person gentle because he's still a pup and she knows he's fragile? How does she know?

ps. She's a hotdog/terrier mix and he's a chihuahua mix
Yes she is being gentle thats how dogs play. As long as you dont notice any agressive signs your dogs are a short time ago having a good time.
Yes she probably does, but they are playing so gentle is not because he is a pup. You might notice that your dog dominates your pup by getting him to roll over on his fund.
Answers:    I advise you to keep watch on and learn.
She knows he's a pup! She can use her nose to bring up to date her everything about him. That's why they sniff each other! It would certainly bring up to date her it was an immature male! Even whether she's never had pups she knows instinctively how to treat one! While your training him to live with humans, she'll tutor him how to be a dog! If you watch her closely she'll teach you the best way train a pup! When she bites him she's disciplining him, he probably get a bit too rough! She'll also growl at him in different tones and sometimes ignore him.

I love watching my 4 yr old Shepherd 'mother' my employer 4 month old Pom!

dogs are smarter than us btw and there playing shes not hurting him yes she proboscis hes a pup they are a "pack" now if ur dog is female afterwards she will be more motherly to happens alot
Grieving over the lost of a home dog?   Does anybody hold experiance surrounded by birthing cocker spaniels?   My English Springer Spaniel keep running and spinning around, ?   Cute, small dogs that are still appropriate for family?
