Does your dog ever pee or poop surrounded by your bed?
Why do I feel like the only human being with a dog that has this problem?
lol dont worry you arent'''my dog did this! when he be a puppy tho he use to sleep with me and every night i woke up a a puppy pee stain on my bed!
talked to someone around it and they said that they will do that to mark whats theirs..
but he stopped...he never pooped tho..thats weird..but i got a clean mattress and he stopped doing it after i told him no in a very serious way..and kicked him stale the bed for a few night after words i let him back on the bed and he stopped so i dont know =]
Because your dog feels as though it is the dominant one in the "pack".
When a dog pees/poops on your bed, within reality, they are marking you. Beds are where your scent is the most, and they smell it strongly. So they walk on there. It's a bad thing.
You inevitability to establish that you are the pack leader, and you need to right the behavior.
This isn't good at all...
No, they are both house trained. They weren't allowed on the bed until they were completely trained, they slept in crates beside the bed.
My dogs sleep on their own bed in my room and no, they don't poop and pee on them or anywhere else but outside.
If your dog is not housebroken, kick him stale the bed and crate train him. The bed is privilege to be earned.
My dog doesn't sleep in my bed so i don't have that problem.
Nope and they shouldn't be allowed contained by the bed. The peeing and pooping on the bed is a sign of dominance.
Answers: If you allow him to sleep on your bed it needs to stop in a minute. Otherwise you're aiming to lose your face while you're sleeping. I know what you're thinking "my dog would NEVER!!" but the truth is that they WILL if they think they are the boss and whether they're peeing on your bed then that's what they think. Now, this doesn't apply if your dog have a urinary tract infection or spay incontinence so have the vet check them out but if he's searching out your bed to pee on that's a sign of total disrespect. It's okay and ever well-mannered to have them in the room with you but you'll inevitability to crate train to get things back on track.
If your dog does not sleep with you after how is this a problem? Shut your bedroom door! It's still a sign of dominance but you can keep them away from the bed so at least you don't enjoy to sleep in it. Your bed is a key area that should be claimed as yours no business what.
As for the dominance issue...there's a lot of information out there. You don't by any means hold to beat or yell at your dog to fix the problem either. Here are a few minor change that will make a huge difference in your dog:
No more furniture or high places (I know it hurts but it'll enjoy to be this way at least for awhile).
Do not allow free access to food or toys. YOU decide when it's time to start playing, stop playing and what to play next to. You also decide when it is feeding time.
Make the dog work for any attention or food. They must preform even something simple like "sit." I assume your dog know what this command is, if not you'll have to teach it reliably. If you know your dog understand this command you only give the command once. Do NOT repeat it. They get 3 second to preform and if they don't then they get no attention and no food. Don't verbs, dogs are programed to go a day or two without food and you'll singular have to do this a few times before he gets the allusion.
Spit on the food before you give it (provided you aren't sick) to your dog. This sounds gross but in the passionate the alpha will eat first leaving his saliva (and scent) on the kill consequently allow the other dogs to each once he's finished. This way you've already had "your fill" and are immediately "allowing" your dog to take a turn.
Never walk around your dog. If he's in your route step over him or push him firmly out of the way.
Always enter and exit first. Even better make your dog sit and wait until you travel through then follow only after being given the okay.
Good luck! I know these seem to be cold but it only has to be this way for a few months consequently you can gradually go back to middle-of-the-road within limits. If you can keep a awfully confident dominant attitude your dog can sleep on your bed, get a few table scraps, and hop up on the couch beside you. They can even have toys laying around. You do need to turn through a few months of reconditioning however so your dog can learn to trust you again.
