Dog suspected to be suffering from rabies. Help needed.?
i have got a labrador dog and he is about 4 months behind the times and i suspect he is suffering from rabies. Is there any way through which i could verify whether he is infected or not?

It is doubtful the pup has rabies. There have not been a case in dogs surrounded by a LONG time. He is old enough for the vaccine though, and you should make a vet appointment!

What makes you think the dog has rabies?
Has he not have the rabies shot? Has he been bitten by a skunk or something? It would be extremely rare now for a dog to hold rabies. Go to your vet and see what's wrong.

The only effective way of confirming rabies is to own the brain sent off for analysis. Your dog would have to be dead for this.

Very unlikely that a 4 mos old dog have rabies.. He should have had his rabies shot.. 12-16 weeks of age.. Have you allowed the dog near any animals/ bat etc that might be carrying rabies? Contact your vet if you seriously think your dog has rabies. It would be irresponsible not to do something in the order of this if you really think it's rabies. It is DEADLY!
