Has anyone have a dog that have divergent (or infirm dog)vestibular syndrome?

I need first hand experience please- not internet info- been within, done that. My dog got this 6 days ago and I have seen signs of improvement- but he still can't bearing (back legs won't support him) an he is still not eating. Is drinking water, tho not as much as he should. And he hasn't urinated since 3am Monday. When he did pee, it was brown and foul odored. Any info as to similar symptoms and how long it took your dog to recuperate would be greatly appreciated. Again- PLEASE no web junk- I have been online looking for answers for 4 days. Thanks
The dog is dehydrated from not eating--Your vet can't possibly regard as it is normal.
While I have never had a dog near it--I know a person who has..
And he was on IV fluids until he get back to himself..To avoid dehydration.
Brown foul urine is NOt good...You should take your pooch stern to the vet to get some IV fluids.. If this doesn't kill him--Dehydration WILL.
I'm sorry but questions as logical as this need addressing to a vet surely. If he's not passed urine since Monday he's in trouble!! He wants to be catheterised at the very least. And his pee probably contains mega blood which needs treating.

Take this prehistoric chap to the vet and get him the treatment he deserves please.
Answers:    You do NOT hold to euthanize your dog.
I worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician for 13 years. I dealt with many dogs near vestibular disease. I even had it myself once.
It will take time, but eventually your dog will get used to the dizziness. Some dogs appropriate longer than others. The big concern is the urine. Your dog cannot go that long without urinating, as you probably know. You should call the vet to ask what you should do to sustain him go. You can use a sling around his belly, back by his hips, to grasp him standing. The pressure on his abdomen will many times make them urinate. It also help to get them up and moving. The longer they stay down, the more problems arise. By not moving, he is not learning that he CAN move in need falling. Again, it takes time. You will have to be patient. The vet should make available you some medication that can help with the nausea and dizziness that accompany Vestibular Disease. You may also want to rob him back in to the vet for some Subcutaneous fluids (SQ - under the skin) to comfort dehydration. Dogs that are dehydrated can become very unstable. I would also recommend rechecking with your vet. Just to craft sure he is getting better.
