HELP ITS AN EMERGENCY DOGS NECK WAS BITTEN?
My Aunt next door owns a lot of dogs BUT these two dogs of hers got within a fight about an hour to an hour and a half ago.
the one that be bitten on the neck was a Charleston terrier and the one that bit the terrier was golden lab mix.
i go over there a couple minutes ago and he wounds are on each side of her neck pretty big.!
my aunt sewed the wounds up, at domestic with needle and thread.
thats so gross she should've taken her to a vet!
so what will happen to the dog?
cant it capture an infection?
she didnt do any thing about the lab mix, (didnt discipline her)
and my aunt knew they other got in fights up to that time this.
YOUR ANSWERS AND OPINIONS ON THIS ARE WELCOME.
when she sewed the dog up it continued to bleed off and on, no pain medications or anything.
The dog will probably get a doomed to failure infection, because the wound should have been thoroughly cleaned and sterilized before mortal sutured. The dog also needs to be on antibiotics.Tell your aunt to watch for swelling and a bad smell and that she really requirements to take the dog to the vet before someone reports her.
Exactly how frequent dogs does your aunt have? She sounds like one of those people who hoards dogs short thinking of the well-being of the actual dog.
... I might call Animal Control, and just say you're a concerned neighbor who requests the place checked out. Animal control is familiar with the laws and regulations of their guaranteed area, and can help a lot more than you can (since your aunt probably won't listen to you as you hold no authority over her).
Ok, folks calm down, this lady might actually know what she is doing you can go and get an animal first aid kit from any pet supplier, with a suture kit. She may be a dog rescue, which might be why she have so many. A wound can bleed for awhile even after it is sutured, I hope aunt cleaned the wound and applied antibiotic ointment, if she have a stash of veterinary combiotics a shot would be good, or she can call the vet and get some amoxicillian. Hopefully both dogs are vaccinate against rabies. The vet actually showed my husband how to suture a horse.
Call the cops very soon! its doenst matter if its your aunt plz call the cops or whether you have an emeergency vet...this is very inhumane...if your hoary enough take it to a vet...if a vet isnt at hand and you dont want to call the police take ti tote the hospital...this is wrong and is considered animals crulety especially whether there was no pain killer whiel she was sweing hime up!! if you dont i will! seriously hun call the police carry the poor thing help it can die or worse be atacked again
I would get it to the vet asap
my neighbor's dog just get bit on the neck and they ended up with a bill over $500 because of medication and treating infection!! Clean it with soap and water!
DO NOT GIVE IT ASPIRIN -> IT WILL THIN THE BLOOD AND MAKE IT BLEED MORE!!
you NEED to take that dog to the vet right absent. Sewing up the wound at home is a horrible thing to do and undoubtedly the area will become infected from doing this cause your dog horrible pain and probably killing it. PLUS there are frequent veins and arteries in their necks and whether one of those were severed your dog could be bleeding internally.
TAKE IT TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY!
Try taking it to the vet and you obligation to discipline the dog because you don't want it to happen again and also keep something on the dog's neck and don't consent to it rustle around or anything.
Actually you need to get the dog to the vet! Thread and a plunger will cause more infection. Vets use something more like fishing line and it is germ free and afterwards the pup is usually on antibiotics for 7-14 days.If you don't get him to a vet this could turn into a life threatening situation.

Suck out the venom...Don't call me dumb, it's a special disease where dogs have venom. It turns out those dogs are the one and only ones in the world that have it.
*bangs against a wall*
TAKE THE DOG TO A VET. If your aunt won't, go yourself. I would already BE at the vet, whether it be my dog or not.
If the wounds are as serious as you say they are, the dog had a good haphazard of dying under those conditions.
Your Aunt should be charge beside animal abuse. I feel sorry for her dogs. She is a totally irresponsible and uncaring dog owner.
I dont think she should own done it herself, a vet is the one wo needs to do that. But if she didnt do a bad available job keep it clean. I would have her give somebody a lift the dog to the vet, just to make sure she did the stitches right.
she should have taken it to the vet and the vet would own given him something for the pain and yes it can get an infection as of the other dog she need to hold on to them apart or take it to the shelter
That is disqusting and in-human. dogs are like humans, what if you got a cut and took a syringe and thread and had someone randomly make 'stiches'. steal the dog to the vet! yes the dog can get an infection and yes it may be fatal. =/
Answers: shame on your aunt!
whether the dogs are known for fighting, then they should enjoy been kept separated.
The dog that was bit should have be taken to the vet.. the dog will likely end up with a serious infection!
call the local animal shelter. what she did must have cause the dog a great deal of pain and she certainly doesn't nouns like a responsible owner. yes it could get infected but my thing is..is that the poor dog must be contained by alot pain.
OK . 1. its goin 2 get infected
2. she could die
3. cops can take ur dogs absent if another " insident" happens n reported
4.wen they take ur dog absent they will n have the right 2 humainly uthenize (kill) her
im srry butt tats the truth ive seen it happen plenty of times
communicate ur aunt 2 disipline em if she doesnt want 2 c em dead or tooken away
srry butt its the truth :(
by the method u need 2 disipline ur dog n ur aunt! >_<

it can get an infection u need to take it to the vet and she should discipline that dog for doing that or find rid of it or give the other dog to someone who cares about it.
Frankly I would call animal control or rescue. Treating your dog and/or not getting it vet help is often considered cruelty contained by most states and provinces and you can be put in jail and/or pay a fine. The rescue will come and may whip all the dogs away and get them medical treatment. What your aunt is doing is cruel and unnecessary. I believe you should do doesn`t matter what is necessary to keep these dogs safe. She doesn't hold to ever know it was you. Be the better person and save the dogs.
GOOD GRIEF! That poor article! Yes, it can get an infection! A Vet would for sure have prescribed antibiotics & pain-relievers. This dog wants Vet care IMMEDIATELY!
the best entry to do is take your dog to the vet and make sure it doesnt bring infected
i have 4 dogs and one is a small dog and has lived through 2 rattle snake bights, 2 dog atacks and oodles more
so imediatly take your dog to the vet and make sure the vet know what their doing because the onlything worse than a bad vet is a sick dog
good luck
that's really gross and inhumane.
this is minor, pitbulls fight for hours tearing eachothers flesh & they dont entail any additional attention & they survive like warriors that they are...dont verbs becuase its something that will heal without vet attention...here are some pitbull stories that were within worse condition and survived http://www.classicptbulls.com/greatdogs.
Well, any treatment is better than none, so at least she stopped the bleeding , pretty much with her sewing job. Primitive, but may enjoy done the trick , and maybe she's planning on taking her dog to the vet tomorrow.
Talk to your own parents. Or another responsible adult. You don't want to get your aunt contained by trouble when it sounds like she's trying hard, and doing her best. But it does sound resembling she has too many dogs, and not enough "housing control" resembling chain link kennels to seperate combatants. People who care in the region of animals are very often overwhelmed when they try to take on too plentiful, with proper housing, or enough time, or capital.
She requests to not own " a lot of dogs" if she can't train, control, fence, or house them carefully, or afford to take them to emergency vets when there are such problems.
Also, she be actually right not to "disicipline" the bigger dog. It's just as likely the smaller one started the row, and lost just due to size. It would be a bit unfair not to expect a dog to defend itself. Who know. If the big dog is just vicious, it should be kenneled, or removed from the home of any other dogs.
Control, and proper fencing and kenneling is what is needed, and maybe not too copious, not- exercised or trained, dogs, in one space, left to their own pecking order fight.
Keep the wound dry and disinfected with antiseptic. Also, give the dogs a shot of penacillin (be certain to check the dose).
Take that dog to the vet ASAP. If she sewed it up herself, she probably didn't properly disinfect it first, and that's just asking for an infection. The vet will need to put the dog on some antibiotics and check for any foreign materials inside the wound that could exact infection.
You aunt had better watch or she might get some animal cruelty charges; I wouldn't relate a lot of people about this.
It's too in arrears to discipline the other dog. Since so much time has passed, it will not know what it is being disciplined for. But she should not keep that dog contained by the same pin as other dogs anymore.
Yes, with any bite/puncture would infection is the main concern... if the wound heal from the outside in, instead of the inside out, infection will be trapped inside, and can grow and spread.
Pain medication is really the least of the worries at the moment. Hopefully your aunt can keep hold of the lab mix away from the terrier, and fix whatever social instability exists there. Rehoming one or both or more than those two of the dogs might be next to considering, since obviously the ones there are not controlled.
good luck, try not to verbs too much though... they are her dogs and it'll be up to her to do what she can.
