How can I put in the picture whether my Cocker Spaniel is pregnant?
Take her to the vet, he/she will xray her and verify pregnancy...If shes not GET HER SPAYED!
Ask her if her breasts are tender, if she's sentiment hormonal and if she has a dumb owner who let a masculine get to her when she was in grill.
If you are seriously asking this question, go and get her spayed. You don't enjoy the mental capacity to deal with the consequences of your whereabouts.
ADD - Then when you took the dog on, did you not find out as much as you could from them? Else that was a poorly researched purchase wasn't it?! Would you buy a car/house without finding out about it too?!
Take her to the Vet and have her spayed - He'll let you know whether she was pregnant when you go to pick her up.
how about a visit to the vet for an exam? as you would expect you had her vet checked before you bred her (right?) so your vet of course told you this info that you needed BEFORE breeding. whether you've forgotten the info, call your vet and ask for a reminder.
and i KNOW you have an emergency fund of at LEAST $2000.00 set aside, right? in travel case of a difficult birthing?
and of course the pups will get their 1 st exam at 2 wks, and every 2 weeks after right? so they'll get ALL their shots when they're supposed to?
and OF COURSE you have homes lined up and checked out before you bred her, RIGHT?
or can i presume: POOR DOG?
EDIT: if thats true, abort the pregnancy and bring back her spayed. i just had a pregnancy aborted surrounded by a stray i picked up. no big deal really. the mother is better off and with so few homes available and millions of dogs individual euth'd yrly, the pups are better off too.
Considering you enjoy had the dog for that long and you know she was not bred since you got her, whether she is pregnant she will be at least 6 weeks into the pregnancy. By that stage of pregnancy the most obvious sign will be swelling of the teats and nipples. If they look swollen, take her to a vet to be checked. Most vet will not spay a dog that late into a pregnancy. You will have to let her own the puppies and find homes for them. Three weeks from now you will know for certain if she be pregnant when you got her.
You get her spayed and see what comes out. Cockers have temperament issues within the genes due to irresponsible breeding when they were very popular. Only a very experienced breeder, or a breeder underneath mentorship of a very experienced breeder should be letting thier dogs reproduce, regardless of breed.
Answers: Sorry to disagree with horsechi.
My dogs often don't even start to produce milk until about 1-2 weeks prior to giving birth but yes that can also be a false pregnancy.
whether you have had her for a month and a half later she will be due in about 1 - 1 1/2 weeks
Teh best unfortunately is to purloin her to the vets to have x-rays done not only will this possibly confirma pregnancy but will agree to you know how many to expect, adn if everything is going ok. ( sometimes the pups aren't positioned right and you may need to consider a c-section)
Some dogs will start to achieve lazy at this time .
If she is pregnant it's important to first get a welping nouns set up and keep her in at this time. Also you should start taking her temperature ( rectally) and once the temp drops and stays below 99 degree ferenheit then she will be delivering within 24 hours
Also start positive mom and pups should see the vet withing 24 hours after delivering to make sure she have delivered everything (pups and placentas) and htat the pus are healthy and sucking and gettting enough food. Mom and pups should be wormed at 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks antiquated. teh pups should get first vaccines at 6 weeks old but not go to topical home until 8 weeks and will be due for second shots when 9 weeks old.
Please seize her to teh vets as ssoon as possible. Good Luck
You take her to the vet and enjoy the vet confirm or deny pregnancy. That's how.
Take her to the vet's, they can do an ultrasound. While you are there, please trademark a spay appointment and have your dog aborted. If you have to ask question like this, you have NO business have pups. Because of BYB like yourself, millions of dogs are euthanized, in shelters each year. Has your dog have all it's medical clearances, eye, knees, elbows, hips, etc.? How about the sire of the pups, same goes for him. Are you prepared to spend $2000.00-$3000.00 on your dog whether she should have problems during the pregnancy or during birth? How about asking these questions to your breeder? My guess is the dog come from an unreputable backyard breeder who has no regard for the dog, other than making a early buck. Please call your vet and make a spay/abort appointment today.
Take her to the vet. If she is have it terminated and get her spayed.
Please and thank you! =D
Was she in heat when around the masculine? You should be able to feel her boobs filling beside milk at around 4 weeks or so. She will lose her appetite for a while & be lazy. Or the vet could do a xray at around 28 days. Even if she does have those things going on & gain weight even, that still doesn't prove she is pregnant. They can have false pregnancies. If she is pregnant, good luck next to them. They are fun for the first couple weeks then they become a handful.
