She keeps getting infections ..(of course ive taken her to the vet) and I do have the medicine...but I want to embezzle the hair out before I put the medicine contained by ...shes a maltese.
My little bichon had ear mites previously. He got drops for the ear, no need to remove hair. Yes, the mane are there for a reason, it protect the ear against foreign object (like flies, etc).
You have need of to use a hemostat. Your groomer or vet can show you how to do this. You can also get diagrams from googling hair plucking. The dogs hate this, by the agency. You don't want to pull out too much at once. You also can't put the hemostat in the ear farther than you can see.
You really ought to be shown how to do this by somebody who knows.
Answers: Lift up the dog's ear and check to see if he has a lot of fleece in it. If you notice any redness or swelling, don't pluck the curls. Redness and swelling could be signs of an infection, and if you pluck the hair and clean his ears, you could remove signs of infection.
Sprinkle ear powder contained by the dog's ear canal. The powder will absorb the moisture in the ears and engender the hair easier to remove. Go sparingly with the ear powder, as a small amount on the ear hair is sufficient.

Hair thats attatched? or not attatched. If its attatched take off it there. If its not then you can use a q-tip and a flashlight to get it out. Im not certain if the vet would approve, but i do that all the time.
A groomer can abet you with this.. you will need ear powder, it will make it easier to verbs the hair and reduce the pain.
Honestly, I would skulk until her ear infection is gone before pulling the hair.. infections are painful, and this will simply cause more pain.. you will have a harder time trying to catch the medicine in her ear, or clean it surrounded by the future because she will associate you messing with her ear with the affliction.
Put the medicine in the ear and rub her ears to work the medicine down into the ear waterway. Once the infection is gone, have a groomer show you the best way to keep her ears verbs and dry to prevent future infections.
Also when bathing, do be sure to put cotton balls within her ears to keep water out of the ear canal!
DON'T! That down is there for a reason! It protects her ear from a lot of things. Leave the curls. Just push it to the side before applying the meds.
