How can I stop my dog from chewing on the doghouse?
My husband just built a doghouse for my dog, they seem to love it but he is chewing on it around the door.
How can I get him to stop?
Buy a spray i.e. meant to make dogs think "gross" because tabasco sause can brand name the door paint peel + wears off!
Most pet stores hold a spray that you can spray on furniture or whatever that tastes like crap when your dog get it in their mouth. It's non toxic so its safe and it worked great for my girlfriends pug. After a few times of your dog getting that stuff in their mouth they will swot up and will stop trying to chew on the doghouse.
Also, please don't put tobasco sauce on it like one poster said. IT might work for your purposes but if your dog gets it inside its snout it will be in a world of hurt and could even cause swelling that would cause a trip to the vet.
Make it taste bad.
Give him something to do he's probably bored. Give him toys and let him get at least 2 hours of exercise a morning. If none of this works get bitter apple from your local pet store and spray it on the part he chews on.

Go to the store and get bitter apple it works very virtuous! Spray alot on the door or wherever he bites and I hope this works! :D By the way, they are expensive the bitter apple!
Most pet stores sell a sour apple spray you can spray on anything you don't want your pets to chew on. My dogs abhor the taste of the spray.
get a spary that make it taste bad for the dog and also you can alsways punish him when he does
Train him. Find out when he does it and tolerate him know that the behavior is unacceptable by gently pulling on his collar or leash when he tries to chew.. You have to be consistent beside him for probably up to 2 -4 weeks so he will stop.
Get a nasty-flavored spray.They usually have them at pet stores and they are completely safe.
spray it beside stuff he hates like pepper; i think dogs dislike intensely that.

Get some bitter apple from the store..Dogs dont approaching the tast
spread a thick section of peanut butter. he'll start likeing the peanutbutter (less plinters) and stop the chewing.

Answers: Spray bitter apple scent around the door, which isn't terrifying but he won't like the taste. Maybe he could be bored of his toys, or he wants to play more?
give him other things to chew on! Besides it's HIS house!
