How can I stop my puppy tipping over her food bowl?
Ok, I can stand there with her and she wont do it, but if I only just sit the bowl down, I guarantee within 10 seconds of me turning my back she'll own her food all over the ground. hahaha. She also does the same with her sea.
She loves the food I give her, so it's not that.
A friend suggested I dig a hole within the ground and bury the bowl so it sits flush with the surface. He had a pup that did the same piece.
I don't really want to dig holes in the lawn so I be thinking of getting a really heavy type bowl, perhaps something made from concrete that is far too calorific for her to tip.
It doesn't really bother me about the food so much as the water as she needs a fixed supply of fresh water and her tipping that over all the time is pretty annoying and is getting a bit frustrating. At the moment I am just bringing dampen to her at regular intervals.
Does anyone else have this same problem and have you got any better suggestions?
There are no tip stainless steel bowl at the pet store. They come in a lot of sizes. They work for me.
Get her a couple of tall crockery containers - generally they are sold as cannisters for flour. Something she needs to put her head down in to procure the food or water, but is too heavy to tip, and too deep to splash around surrounded by.
Answers: first I would put something approaching a plate underneath to catch the food
If that doesn't try taking off her collar leash or any thing on her
If that doesn't work hold the dish surrounded by your hands until she learns how to avoid tipping it
Good luck
At pet stores they sell no tip food bowls for dogs in close to every size: small dogs or big dogs
There are special dog bowls that they can't tip over. We got ours at Wal-Mart, so they are readily available. They are wider at the bottom, and spread out so the dog can't pick them up with their teeth any. It's hard to describe, but they work.
