How do I bring back my basset hound to stop peeing surrounded by her crate?

My 10-month old basset hound puppy will pee in her crate when I'm not home. It doesn't event if it is 2 hours or 6, she pees. Hannah is house-trained...but she will have an accident whether you ignore her "I have to go out" notice. She sleeps in her crate all night and doesn't hold any accidents, but if I leave, she will pee. Is she doing this out of spite? She have limited water and multiple potty breaks when I know I will be leaving the house.and go straight outside when I get home. I know she can hold it...so, why is she peeing?
u should only put her surrounded by the crate to sleep in let here be out side when you are gone
Dogs do NOT do anything "out of spite" = they just don't reckon that way.
Either she is stressed when you leave her, or she may have a urinary tract infection.
First go and get her checked out at the vet, take a urine sample, then engineer sure to take her out to piddle before you crate her.
Give her blankets, a toy, and I other cover the crate with a light sheet and say "move about sleepies" before I leave, that helps the dog be aware of secure. Don't make a fuss, just a routine.

Good luck.

Does she get real upset when you leave the house?

Since she is "holding it"? okay other times, I would guess that this is separation anxiety. Did this only just start or has she always done this?
I had a manly basset for 11 years. It took about 18 months to get him completely house trained.
I don't think she's doing it out of spite, I don't ruminate dogs even have that capability like inhabitants do!

Answers:    Sounds similar to she is mad. My dog behaves the same method. If I leave him home alone on a Sat, or Sun, days I do not work, he will get into trouble, i.e. pick the scrap, chew my shoes, or just make a mess. Its like he know that I'm not at work, and he's mad that he is left alone on a day I own off (I always take him near me on the weekends, unless I can't) Maybe your pup sees that the other dog is free, and wants the same treatment. They are such a fickle breed, whether she is doing well with the potty training, maybe you should try to set off her out of the crate, start with just a couple hours at first, see how she does.
Because she's nervous.
you should tolerate her out right before you leave.
are within blankets or newspapers in her crate? If so, take them absent when you are gone. Dogs do not usually pee on just a bare floor, they similar to it when there is a blanket for them to bury their business.

Puppies or dogs, should not be in a crate during the morning, unless you are there to take them out every two hours at least. That's basically cruel.

Imagine yourself in a space that small, all day, when you're not tired, and you want to play or drink or explore.

Now that she has become hardened to not caring if she's within pee, she'll need probably at least 90 days to correct that problem. At lowest she's dry at night.

Be sure the smell is off her very well with a good bath, next if she can't be in a fenced yard during the time, at least put her in a kennel or exercise pen where she have a litter box or wee pad to use, on the opposit side of her bed.

I run a 150 dog Pet Resort, and no dog is ever in a crate except for transport within a car or plane. I'm not saying crate training, or sleeping in a crate isn't advisable, but not a young dog/ puppy especially during the day ! Would you shift to work and leave a child in a cage?

Love your dog, she loves you and is incredibly grief-stricken when she's left home alone, locked up. She should at least enjoy run of the back yard, but if not, at tiniest a exercise pen with the TV left on animal planet...or maybe a moment dog or a babysitter for company?

Maybe a sweet little rescue dog? Male would be best, neutered.
