How do I hold my dog from scratch the door when I depart the house?
My 6 year old min pin mix has majorly scratched up the front door of my house. I know it's separation anxiety. When I show him the scratched area he crouches down resembling he knows he did something bad. But then the subsequent day there are more.

Protect the bottom of your door with a plexi screen. Then spend hours training him, next to a partner standing on his side of the door. Google the Dog Whisperer, he treats this behavior a lot of the time.
Answers: My dogs did this when i didnt walk them long satisfactory before i went to work. Make sure your dog have plenty of exercise so he doesnt have all the pent up energy! Toys will also save his mind off of you.
Dont forget that crating is a very honest option.
Crate him while you are out.. that way he can not harm himself, or your furniture!
you can cut his nails or leave him within a crate while your out. if he likes space put him in a pack and play or something resembling that.
