How do you crate your puppy?
i have a very active german shepard mix puppy. He is 10 weeks infirm and i am going to try to crate him. I am not in the house from 9-6. How do you crate him? Do the rules still stand for weekends?
Answers: When you train a dog being consistent is important. So the rules apply on the weekends as okay.
Here is a schedule I followed for my dog. You can make adjustments to better fit your calendar.
6:30 am Rise
walk puppy briefly
7:00 am feed pup and offer drink of dampen.
Walk pup
Return home and play with pup briefly
Pup stays in crate
mid morning. way of walking pup
after walk pup stays with owner for 15 minutes
Return pup to crate
12 noon nurture pup second meal and offer hose
1:00pm walk pup
Return home and play with pup
pup returns to crate
mid afternoon present pup water
walk pup
pup returns to crate
5:00pm feed pup third feast and offer water
walk pup
allow puppy to play contained by kitchen while dinner is being made
7:00pm Walk pup briefly
Return home and play with pup
Pup returns to crate
past bed walk pup
pup sleeps in crate or on a tether in your bedroom.
Remember whether your dog has an accident it is your fault for not attracted to it. Don't smear his/her nose in it. Bring them outside to see whether they have to go more, or place him/her in their crate. Never verbs a mess when your puppy is watching. Always descent an area they had messed in to prevent any adjectives needs to mess in that same area.
I recommend reading The monk of New Skete The art of raise a puppy. By the authors of how to be your dog's best friend. They also have DVDs out. But can be a little pricey. So checking ebay for them would be wiser then shopping else where on earth.
The schedule I listed is a schedule I used to train my malamute. Its also the agenda the new skete monks use. It worked well, and my puppy was trained rapidly. And crate training is so much easier, and less smelly then paper training.
Don't administer your dog water after 7pm.
