How House training a 7 month ripened dog?
My friend gave me a 7 month old chihuahua mixed with tear hound and she told me it was house trained but it isn't...I cant seem to get him to move about outside so he chooses to poop in my moms closet and she is getting really upset how can i get him to be in motion outside instead of my mom's closet?
ohmygosh why are you trying to train a one of those ? they wont listen. they do what they want WHEN they want. you can probablly teach them where on earth to poooooop nd stuff but thats prob. it. well oooood luck :D
Are you free feeding him? It's hard to put in the picture a dogs "eliminating schedule" when they eat whenever they want. I would feed him two meal a day, for about 20 minutes, then lug the food away. about half an hour after this I would bring the dog external and wait until he eliminates, use positive praise, and right to be heard something like "go pee!" when he goes, and verbs saying it everytime he does.
Do not try to punish the dog if you find the poo later on, he won't be capable of connect the punishment with the earlier action. If you fence in him in the middle of the act, I would pick him up and bring him outside.
Smack its behind firmly and show it the door. Go outside with the pup and say 'poop time' Eventally the dog will appreciate
Watch him closely. If he shows signs of need to go (like sniffing around a lot) take him outside and shut the doors. After a while, whether he hasn't gone yet, bring him back inside and shut him in his kennel for 15 minutes. He won't want to pee inside his kennel, because he spends time surrounded by there. After 15 minutes, bring him back outside. Keep repeating this until he go to the bathroom outside (as he does, say a cue phrase like "do your business"). After he does, compliment him extravagantly. It's hard the first couple of days, but he'll start to pick it up soon.
Hope this helps!
First of adjectives, potty training a chihuahua is like trying to tame an Alligator. It cannot be done. The best way to try to potty train any dog is to enclose train them. Keep them in the cage and let them out for solely bathroom purposes only. Let them out periodically to use the bathroom only. Keep their food and water surrounded by the cage with them. Typically a dog will not mess in their hold. They don't care about making messes where WE live, but they abhor making messes where they live. This is the way we house broke our Schnauzer Yorkie mix. Took about two weeks and lots of restraint. Also, when you take them out and they do their business, praise them. Just description words only. Make sure you use the same words every time. This is crucial. Words like, "Go Potty" or "Go Poop". And when they do use the same words of praise every time as very well such as "Good Boy Go Poop" or...you get the idea. Hope this helps!

Answers: Here's the process
1. IT TAKES A LONG TIME
2. keep the dog in a kennel until his time to be taken out. Dogs never soil their own nouns so to keep them and it clean.
3. Make a potty schedule(I have given you one at the pause of this answer)
4. abide by it and say good boy whenever he goes potty and a treat whether need be.
5. Be patient puppies are fragile and they are like babies, they swot slowly but once they learn they always do it (unless they're to sick to get up ya know...)
SHEDULE:
get up up let dog out right away before feed time
let dog out after feeding time
let dog out up to that time and after your lunch(b4-11:30, after-12:30)
let out at 2:30 or so
let out at 4:00 or so
let out back and after dinner and before you go to bed.
Don't forget to praise the dog and furnish treats and don't forget to take him on walks that's all a factor of the process of their learning.
