How to attain my dog to stop biting my atv?
I have 450cc quad and every time im about ot ride it my dog (yellow lab) runs right up to it and starts to bit it and bark at it.. he already put 4 holes surrounded by it i wanted to kill him but lucky he has a cute obverse...lol i tired to use a stick to just push him away and yell at him and communicate him no and all he dose is bit the stick and when i try get up and get him he runs absent from me...How will i get him to stop doing that and just get him to in recent times run along and follow me without all that...But once im in full speed he cant keep hold of up and just runs behind me but before im nearly to go he dose it i hate it...any one with any well brought-up suggests...Thanks
He is chasing it like prey. That's his motivation. You need to put him surrounded by the house or confine him when you are going to ride it. He could get seriously hurt.
I agree with tentoes answer, but whether he's a lab, you might want to try something other than a squirt bottle. Our lab LOVES it.
Maybe try something noisy and sharp, like shaking a can beside pennies in it, or a whistle? I don't know how loud your quad is, or if those things will work, I'm just dictum that the water bottle might not work.
When you go to ride it, put him surrounded by the back yard
Don't ride it with your dog around.

Answers: You need to teach him that chasing and chewing is bad.
This is what I did to seize my BT used to the Vacuum. I know it's not the same, but it might work. First leave the quad out so that he can have a look at it an investigate it to his heart content. Once he's comfortable. Turn it on, let it idle. Praise him for being silent. If he starts to bark and bite at it, say "NO" and maybe use a squirt bottle beside water and spray him when you say "NO". Then get on the quad and see what he does (keeping the river bottle handy).
Praise the positive behavior. I think most people forget that.
