Im getting a dog tomorrow and...?

Ok well im getting a boston terrier dog tomorrow and he isnt houstrained...i have to keep him surrounded by a crate at night, but what about during school..do i hold on to him in there for a full 7 hours? my mom isnt gonna watch him for me any, and i dont want him to get fleas if i leave him external..please he is gonna be an indoor dog..what do i do?
keep him in the crate, distribute him some toys. Most dogs love their crates, mine does. they usually dont pee where they sleep. after school totter him every day! it tiers them out and its good to stretch their legs. or keep him within the back yard if its a nice afternoon or in the basement if you hold one. or the grauge even.
Well, if you guys aren't going to be there, can you ask a neighbor to permit him out every 2 hours? With a puppy they need to be let out often, and it is not a honest idea to let the puppy out in the courtyard for 7 hours in this cold weather. well even if you live contained by a warm place, you shouldn't leave it outside on the first light of day. Get a neighbor to take it out of it's crate every 2 hours at least, and then put it backbone in. Once it starts getting older, you can increase the time it goes lacking the bathroom until it can last on its own until you get home. Good luck! And own fun with your puppy!
put him in your bathroom so he can still move around and stufff.
Boston terriers can hold breathing difficulties if left in the cold for too long so mind of that if you leave him outside. They are relatively unoccupied indoors and are sensitive to weather extremes.
Most of the time fleas will die in the cold. I don't know how the weather is wherever you live.
But yes they are indoor dogs. I would not live him in his crate for seven hours. That is process too long especially for a puppy.
You should leave him within the crate during school. Let him roam when you get up, let him potty and what not, consequently when you leave, put him back in. When you gain home from school, instantly let him out and tolerate him potty and what not. Then when you go to sleep, put him back in and newly repeat this. A dog can be kept in a crate for more than 6 or 7 hours. The dog doesn't mind that much. It will whine for a few days, but that will cease on roughly speaking the 4th or 5th day. Just keep him up during school. Trust me, I know a woman that knows alot about dogs, I'm getting my dog tomorrow too :) so I was asking her every interview I could think of. Hope it helps, you should answer my question :)

You can leave him contained by a crate. Just make sure there's nothing it could possibly choke on and variety sure there is room to stretch and turn.

They have to memorize, and the crate can be part of the process.

Or, get a baby door and block past its sell-by date an empty room where it can run around and be comfortable.
put him contained by the bathroom with toilet paper on floor or in laundry place and put a fence[babyfence] so he wont travel around the house.
put him surrounded by a bathroom or use a baby gate and section past its sell-by date a part of the kitchen, utility room, or some other tiled floored room for him. this way whether and when he potties on the floor it is easier to clean than carpet and the little guy can get up and be somewhat mobile to some extent than confined to a crate. congrats and good luck! =D
when i got a dog we put her in a adjectives room such as the bathroom or laundry. we put newspaper all on the floor so when she pooed or weed it was effortless and convenient to clean it up. we just picked up the newspaper and put it within the outside bin.

if it is winter where you are, i would propose putting your new puppy in the laundry and keep the dryer going. this is approaching a heater and it will ensure that your dog isnt cold. make sure however that it isnt too hot for your puppy contained by the room.

also, provide your puppy with toys to play with so that he doesnt get bored and generate sure to give him lots of love and attention when you get domestic from school.

keep a bowl of water and food contained by the room also and in another corner have a box or dog bed with some blankets surrounded by it so he can have a rest when he gets tired. he will learn not to poo or wee within his bed or near his food, dogs hate it when this happens so he will most likey start to poo and wee surrounded by the opposite corner of the room soon.

if you can make certain that when you are home, that your puppy is outside. you dont want him to get sick of his room and he will also swot not to be scared of outside if you ever involve to put him out there.

because he is an inside dog, it would be advisable to train him. you and your boston terrier can go to puppy training school on the weekends. it is also better to start training when the dog is young at heart. they will remember thier training better. dont put it off to when you have finished school or for anything other reason. you will regret it because the training wont be as nearly as affective.

good luck with your modern puppy. you will soon see that it is a very rewarding experience having a pet dog.
hope i helped :)
You are not ready for a dog! wait until you can devote more time! You need to potty train and assent train him and you do not have the time to do this.

Answers:    Sounds like you are unprepared and uninformed and you shouldn't be getting a dog.
you clearly cannot keep your dog in a crate for 7 hours. you should probably hire a dog sitter or ask a neighbor to help you out
When I got my dog, I let him run around the house while I was gone. This may not nouns like a good idea, but whether on the weekends you teach him/her to go to the bathroom in a unmistaken spot it isn't that bad.
Maybe you should try boarding him at a pethotel? 7 hours sure is a long time to be alone, especially in a contemporary place.
well you got to keep him within there than
DO NOT LEAVE HIM IN A CRATE! it is mean either tie him up next to one of those lease things that u twist into the ground or something like that keep him on a manacle or let him out but do not coop him in a crate all hours of darkness and almost all day it sex really desperate for him
put him in either your bathroom or whether you have a laundry room in there...purely make sure he has food and NEVER EVER take off a bag of food in the same room as your dog
is he a puppy or what, if hes a puppy you should walk him atleast once a hours of daylight.
Just remember dogs are kinda' similar to little kids or infants!

Although it may seem mean, the dog will eventually obtain used to getting crated. Just praise him when he goes in. He may not be used to holding it, but he will go and get used to it; just make sure you tolerate him outside (I hope you have a fenced yard :k) right after he get out of the crate. Baby gates are great.

I totally disagree with leaving a dog external all day in the cold or the boil. We had those "chain things" that go within the ground. My dog passed away because she choked herself on it. (The dogs had gotten out of the house while at work and our neightbor decided to fasten her up to help out, but didn't realize it was caught already. They didn't leave the marine bowl near her either in the summer fry, so she also died of the heat.) It's dangerous and risky. I wouldn't want the dog taking off near it or breaking out because it's so strong. Or if a cat or stranger goes in the patio. (assuming there's no fence-which I strongly suggest a fence! Where I live, owners aren't the smartest. I've seen one too frequent on the side of the road, and I can't imagine or even allow the possibility of that happening to any of my three dogs.)

Wish you luck beside your new dog!

(Agree with the answer below- make certain you have plenty of toys for the dog so you can teach it what are "toys" and what aren't! lol!)
