Puppy food: a substance used for puppies from generally 4-5 months of age to 8-9 months of age. Contains high nutrition and different fat aside from dog food.
Adult Dog food: a substance used for dogs from generally 9-11 months of age until 8-9 years of age. contains less fat and generally more oats and meat products aside from puppy food.
Senior dog food: a substance used for dogs from generally 9-10 years of age until the day of death. contains more puppy substances for sensitive digestive systems.
Puppy food generally have a different nutritional balance to better fit the needs during a time when the dog has profusely of growth. However, a high-quality dog food is also fine to feed.
It's much the same as have a child - baby food is already designed to be more nutritionally balanced, but there are still plenty of ways to prepare "adult" foods so that they stumble upon the needs of a baby who is just formation to eat foods.

puppy food is much better for puppies than adult dog food, because the nutrition at that age focuses on the growth of the puppy, gaining a little freight (it's just like babies... a chubby baby is a strong baby.. ya know?), coat grooming, height, digestion and other things..
it's just approaching baby food. it's very good for them.
when you nurture an adult dog puppy food- that dog would probably gain weight and not be as healthy as you preference him to be, because the food is targeted at young pups.
you shouldn't feed your puppies adult dog food. whether you have it, keep it and wait 'till their elder.. in the mean time, buy them puppy food.
