Is it undisruptive for a dog to sleep beside e- collar on surrounded by crate?
My dogs has been picking at his injured foot pad every hours of darkness, so I scheduled him to see the vet, his appointment is on Tuesday. In the meanwhile, to avoid seeing all that blood every morning, I made him a homemade e-collor by adding to place mat and attaching them to his collar with duct tape. It seems to be holding and he is competent to rest but it is hard for him to turn arond in his crate. I am wondering if this is locked or should I sleep tonight by his crate.
I dont estimate its fair to keep him in a crate when he have that e collar on. but if he has to sleep in at hand i would have the crate by your bed side in case something happen
He should be just fine. My dog had to wear one of those for going on for 1 week after he was neutered and he slept in his crate beside no problem. You should put his crate by your bed though just in case.
Should be fine as long as he can sleep w/it. Necessity is the mother of invention.so they say.
He don't try chewing on the duct tape cause most dogs will cause it feel like a foreign object on them...
I've honestly never heard of an E-Collar back..
best of luck
Answers: I work at a veterinary hospital and almost all of our animals wear e-collars all the time. I've never see one get stuck in a weird postition or injure themselves surrounded by any way.
If it is working stick with it. We had our puppy sleep within her ecollar, but we had her on the bed with us because she kept picking at her feet. so we could stop her from picking her foot.
