is my dog going blind?
i think my 13 yr old dog is going blind and a little bit deaf. whether i'm a little far away from him and i call out to him he sometimes doesn't hear me and he'll sort of look around as whether he heard something. and sometimes im standing not too far but he's looking as if he can sort of see something. what do you think? and what should i do almost it?
uhh once again vet!
That happened to my dogs when they got old too. I agree to my dogs walk into my legs. I am not sure how to explain that. I walked besides them, but I kept resembling bumping them with my legs to help guide them. You can also buy an expensive perfume and dab it on the furniture and stuff so they don't bump into things. The deaf point didn't bother me, I talked to them anyway. When we got Andy, he would travel up to the older dogs and lick their noses and guide them to the food and water and potty areas. He be really great about taking care of the older dogs, we a short time ago don't know how he knew to do that. You can type into y/a search for questions, I know near have been a lot of question on blind and deaf dogs, and some people had some good trellis sites.
Sounds like it. What can you do about it? Nothing. You can try taking it to the vet, but there's really no point.
of course the vet will effort if they didn't they wouldn't have become a vet. it sounds like your right. own your dogs eyes turned kind of a silvery-white color? if so then he's unambiguously going blind. but you should talk to the vet.
aww its very imagined. Check with your vet see if she/he has any pointers that can lend a hand you and your pooch through this time. GL
You should pocket him to the vet (sorry) for a geriatric checkup, and then be prepared to treat him like we treat grandpa for (Nicely).
Answers: its quite common at his age for sight and audible range to deteriorate. You should take him for a check up at the vet just to make certain that there isn't any pain or to see if they could propose anything. They may be able to remove cataracts if that is to say what is causing his sight loss but you need to regard as about his general health and go expectancy before you go ahead with that. Would it be balanced to put him through an op at his age? Talk it over with the vet. What else can you do to help him? Don't move furniture around into positions that are unusual and grant him loads of cuddles.
well hes 13 years old
if he is within human years that means hes 91 so hes just getten old but u might wanna appropriate him to the vets
Are his eyes discolored or cloudy? You can go to vet and they will put a solution in his eyes to make certain he does not have an infection or has scratched them or something. If he is just going blind from one old though then they are not really going to be able to do anything for him... Same next to ears they will check them out to make sure no infection, etc...
