animals can see certain traits in other animals. If a dog have more power in a pack that dog is seen as more attractive. Humans do this but contained by a completely different way

Dogs don't have sex for fun, they aren't "hot" or not, they have sex in recent times to procreate - that's it. Females mate when they are in heat - no other time. Males come along when they smell the females in bake - that's it.
No female will accept a male "only just for fun" or ANY time except for a few days when she's at that point of her cycle.
