Italian Greyhound/MinPin mix Problems?
We have one of the sweetest dogs anyone could ask for. Granted he gets into mischief like a middle-of-the-road 10 month old dog would but he has the more amazing personality. He get along great with our two cats and 1.5 year old daughter. The only issues we own is getting him to go potty outside. We adopted him when he be 9 months. Whenever we go to put his leash on he squats and pees. Most of the time not with me but every time with my husband. He is highly attached to me but skittish around my husband for reasons unknown. And when my husband does take him outside to dance potty he will not go. He goes every time with me. The other point is we have almost over a foot of snow right now and he will NOT poop external. Yesterday I cleaned up three poop messes. I have tried almost everything and my husbands patients are waring thin. I don't want to own to take him back to the pound. Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated. Thank you.
Answers: Both breeds are subjected to single coats thus winter, cold, wet and excessive roast play on these breeds. The Miniature Pinscher in fact was derived from crossing a smooth coated Dachshund near an Italian Greyhound. In both breeds they can be found to show loyalty to one person and more often than not it will be to women. The voice attracts them. Men generally own deeper voices which these breeds can sometimes find slightly frightening. With the current snow conditions it is not uncommon for the dog to hesitate near wanting to go outside. The key word next to these breeds especially Miniature Pinschers is patience. In time they will come around. House training needs to be set to a specific agenda and adhered to specifically. Also note that Miniature Pinschers really do need to be crate trained as they elder they get the more their curiosity takes over and are prone to getting into trouble especially when not a soul is home. The breed lives in a state of terrible two's resourcefully into their senior years. Good luck.
