Jack Russel Bleeding Problem?
My little jack russel has a problem biting himself where it counts. It seems to me its when ever i don't present him enough attention, or stop giving him attention, and also when i come home from work and not pet him before i pinch my shoes off. he will pull his pee-pee out with his tooth and it seem like he cleans it until he spears it way down on the shaft part or sometimes on the tip but i enjoy been trying to use the cone and a Diaper but that's not right for him to have that on all the time. He will shift for a few weeks with no problem and then all the sudden at hand will be a pool of blood on the floor and sometimes on the carpet! is there any thing i can make a contribution him or anything i can do. i took him to the vet and they have never heard of anything like it and could stitch him up but i know he will purely be back at it when hes all healed up. Any suggestion will be appreciated
Seriously? I haven't hear of that happening before...it's very strange, but it might be like scratching an itch for him...I dunno though, because if he would be bleeding from it, after wouldn't he just feel pain?
Sounds close to he hasn't been neutered, He desperately needs to be. That could statement for the entirety of his strange behavior. But, as with ALL situations like this, you should be seeking the advice of a vet, not from the lot of us on Y!A. We can simply guess; the vet will know. If he hasn't been neutered, regardless of what the source of this problem is, please have him fixed ASAP!
have him neuter.
You call for to consult with a canine behavior specialist.
Answers: I have heard of a male dog that will do this out of sexual frustration. whether he is not neutered that is very predictable the problem. Dogs don't have hands so they use there mouths instead...I know gross but true.
If he is neuter it may be something else like a urinary tract infection or stones he is passing. The vet should be able to diagnose any of those problems fairly easily with a urinalysis and urine sedimentary screening.
