<<<<<-----Missy's sick! we'll be sour to the vet first point contained by the A.M,?
but here are little Missy's symptoms. she's vomited a mucus type bile 2 x (Sat. night and tonight). tonight there appeared to be what looks like spots of blood contained by the bile.
tonight when i got home from work and i took them out, she ran around, come in had a little drink, vomited the bile and later ate some of her food (Wellness for sm. breed mixed with Canidae). she's sleeping now. seems to be more peace than normal.
she's about 1.5 yrs, 10 lbs. she's the one that was tossed from a vehicle window a little over a yr ago.
after she got sick sit night, my husband mentioned that Rambo, our little 20 lb JRT/beagle mix puppy was playing pretty rough with her.
any thoughts on what i can expect the vet to voice? or is there anything i can ask about in finicky?
and she was coughing a little this morning too.
Sounds to me like what happens to Ethan when he get overexcited or stressed. Bile vomit (which is actually more regurgitation...he's not retching or heaving or anything), occasionally has a little spot or two of blood surrounded by it. We've taken him to the vet for this 3 times in the last 6 months and every time (aside from the first one, where they open him up and still found nothing), they've given us metronidazole (sp.??) and Cerenia...to stop the vomiting and/or diarrhea. And those always help. We also keep him on some plain boiled chicken and white rice, mixed near just a tiny bit of chicken broth for some flavor.
I imagine that's what your vet will give you. I would mention whether this happens often, any change contained by her life (is something different? Anything at all? The smallest changes incentive Ethan to act like this.)...
Good luck...doesn't sound close to something to be overly concerned about, but better safe than sorry! Let me know how it goes...
you want to tell the vet everything you just said. Details are important. Vomiting can be serious so whether you can get a little in a backpack try to and take it to the vet to be examined.
meanwhile keep the other dog away!
Answers: Sounds like the inauguration of distemper, not Parvo
get her to a vet asap, I know you will...dogs with distemper will vomit bile, drink, vomit, eat, vomit...and will rest alot, it take a toll on their little bodies
lets hope it neither.
You said Rambo and her were playing pretty rough, then she may own injured an intestine...so your vet will need to xray to make sure no internal interrupt
I will say bunches of prayers for her till I hear from you again to let me know she is okay
God bless you both..
good luck at the vet
Get the Buffalo out..
She is ingestion and drinking and that is good.Could she have gotten into something?Next time she trows up free it in a sterlized bottle and refrigerate it to take to the vet to be tested.good luck
It could be the start of kennel cough, they often vomit with it, and unsurprisingly it can be something to do with the liver or pancreas
Your vet will want to know if it is vomiting or regurgitation Vomiting is an active process, your dog would be apprehensive and heave and retches to vomit. If food is present in vomit, it is partially digested and a yellow fluid, bile may be present. Regurgitation is to a certain extent passive. The animal lowers its head and food is expelled without challenge. The food brought up by regurgitation is usually undigested, Do take a fresh sample of "vomit" for the vet to examine.
Just some things for you to judge about before seeing the vet, hope it all go well.
nouns a lil like parvo not a vet tho
