Mix breed dogs or pure bred dogs?

what do you think is better? I mean purebreds are good because you know closely about them, but mixed breeds can have a lot of moral breeds rolled into one. what do you think?
Go to your local shelter and see what adjectives they have. There are tons of mixes and even some great purebreds that just need a upright home! :)
I believe it depends on the source.

With purebred dogs (from a registered breeder) has been breed with contemplation, well raised, you know their lineage and medical problems and behavioral traditions.

Mixed breeds often come from careless and cruel backyard breeders that are only within it for money, or from people who have not desexed dogs and have get pregnant, and they have no idea who the father is. These kinds of dogs are the ones you pick up within petshops. Although they can be nice dogs, from buying these animals you are supporting an industry that is cruel and adding to a huge dog over population problem.

That leads to my subsequent point, animal shelters are filled with loverly mixes and purebreds who dont have a domestic. They all have proved they have a loverly temperament, and you can achieve a dog that suits you.

It isn't necessarily whether the animal is pure or mixed, its what you are looking for in a pet dog.
it depends on what you want from the dog. and wheter you're the kind of person that requests a generalized road map or doesn't mind surprises.

my first dog is a rottie/shepherd mix. best dog i ever could've asked for as a first dog. obedient, easy to train. best of both worlds.

when i established to get a pit i didn't want to jinx anything and knew that i'd need a even temper dog that actually fit the REAL pit standard. so i got a purebred from a good breeder.

my other two dogs are also purebreds, one a rescue and the later one breeder bought. but they just seemed to mesh well next to my already established "pack" which at the point was the most important factor for me.

people are acting close to purebreds aren't bred by byb or even accidental breeding. and people play into the myth that mixes don't get as sick as purebreds. population also seem to forget that at one point purebreds were nothin but mutts too. but at the end of the morning it doesn't matter cause the dog is gonna love you
Mixed breeds are easier to find and have a more original self-image. Pure breds are typical and easy to assess from a distance. What are you looking for in a dog? Do you have children? What can you afford?

The recent designer breed trend be simply a reminder of how breeds began. People would take breeds with the merits they desired in the one dog and breed the line til they could get what they considered necessary and with consistency. Then they would name the breed they had created. The breeds we enjoy now have such a long lineage that we can telephone call them pure.

If you are looking for that much predictability, then you need a purebred. Say you need a work dog or a dog that will survive the climate.

If you are looking for a true companion, your best bet is a rescue animal. They are waiting for their hero and you carry to be it! There will be much bonding as they are introduced to a new home. Just be ready to return with them a lot of medical attention in the first year. Have to catch up on adjectives they might have missed.
There is no such article as better. If you have specific requirements, like non shedding or size, you may need to gain a pure bred (often you can find purebreds at the pound). Otherwise a mixed breed is great.
Neither is "better".
Better is any dog from health tested parents of apt temperament, correctly reared and socialised by knowledgeable and responsible breeders.
Unfortunately, mixed breeds rarely fulful those requirements.
Purebre because you'll know how big they'll get, how much exercise they need, etc. If I be to get a mixed breed I would want to know what kind it's parents were.
Mutts are NOT breeds!
NOT ".rolled into one..."=NONE!
Ever mixed paint?
Blue & red & green?? Make SLUDGE,doesn't it?
NOT a marvelous "new" color.just muck.
Answers:    They are all great.

Purebreds are spectacular for people looking for constant traits, for resposible breeders, and for people who want to show that specific breed. They also make wonderful pets.

Mixed Breeds are great for people who want a personal dog and for people who want a little mystery in their canine. They also be paid wonderful pets.
My dog is a mix and I couldn't ask for a smarter more all right behaved dog. Save a dogs life get a mixed breed from the pound.
Mixed breeds a re much better than pure breeds as they do not hold the inherited problems of the pure breeds and they live longer as well
I had a mixed breed(lab/shepherd) and he was awesome.
I am a purebred owner and wouldn't have anything else.

You are entering a minefield when it comes to mixed breeds as you do not know which traits will come through in the descendants. Also with all the Backyard breeders and puppy mills pumpin out their designer dogs that sometimes cost more than the purebred dogs (Madness!)

I would always buy a purebred from a registered and reputable breeder where on earth I can get support for the life of the dog and medical guarantees that the Sire/Dam have be tested for genetic issues and health problems.
Pure breed dogs have a significantly smaller gene pool because of their breeding purity, so tend to be more prone to genetic diseases. Many breeds have a typical associated disease, and you should check this out. Also pure breeds are usually more expensive.
I love my mixed more than any pure bred I've ever have!
