My 8 month antiquated mannish chi uses potty pad,he have started hiking his leg to pee but he misses the wad,what can I ?
Teach him to pee outside.. Dogs that use pee pads other end up peeing in the house. You train a dog to pee in the house, you finale up with a dog that pees in the house. Plus your dog is marking.. You have need of to correct him and show him where pee belongs.. OUTSIDE.
Your dog is plenty old enough to be going outside. Especially males, who approaching to scent mark things even if they don't really have to pee. Having him neuter will control some of the scent marking, but get busy beside outside potty training.
Well at 8 months your dog should be going regularly outside to do his "work". Start taking him outside to do his "work" and avoid the mess.
Put a 2 liter soda bottle full of water surrounded by the center of the wee wee pads. This way he will hike his leg to pee on that and not "miss" the wipe.

We put our pads surrounded by a litter box so that he raises his leg on the side.. I agree though that it will be easier in the long run if you train it to travel outdoors : )
