there is a smart answer everywhere. this isn't it. Usually about 15 minutes. Can be a long as an hour. Most race don't realize that you don't have to have a vet to deliver pups unless the mother is having trouble. Nature will nick it's course. If the mother pushes and pushes more than an hour and nothing is happening, and she is in Unrelenting anguish, yelping or screaming, and nothing is happening afterwards go to the vet. Certain breeds with a big heads approaching English bulldogs normally need C sections. Because of the puppies generous head. When in doubt go to the vet.
usually nearly a hour for my dog. if she looks like she is pushing but nothing is stirring I would call a vet. do you know how many puppies there are normally you can feel them kicking. if there is solely one then she might have to have a Cesarean as it will grow moderately large being a only puppy but whether there are more than one most of the time you are ok not always but usually. keep watch on her I did have one that her water had broke and it took 3 hours previously she had the puppies but most of the time it is within a hour or close to. however once she starts having them near can be breaks it is not uncommon for her to have one and then up to a 40 min. break and later two with a couple minutes. also mom should take the sack off herself but whether the puppies are coming too fast you might need to help her. but don't do so unless they are coming to nippy. good luck.

You obviously a BYB. So please attain your dogs to a vet if you do not know what your doing.
Also get her spayed after the pups are weaned.

Answers: It depends on the dog... but if it is toooo long, she will need minister to.
If you have a breeder mentor, then you should contact them immediately.
If you don't, after you should call the vet or emergency vet if it is after hours and ask them. Explain that you are inexperienced in this nouns and are breeding your dog without the knowlege you need to whelp the pups should something go wrong. Also, be prepared to lug her in if need be. Don't devise "just let nature nick it's course" and go to bed. I know of someone that did that and woke to 5 dead puppies and a dead momdog... it be heart wrenching. Especially since her twelve year old daughter found them in the morning.
You should also find out what you need to know after the pups are born. There is soooo much to it.

uhm it shouldnt be much longer after that i would suggest you call your vet fast or take him to the vet asap.
there is no recitation. every dog is different. we have had some that it happened instantly and some took 12 hours or more to achieve done.
