My dog is wrecking my parent's house! D:?
In my apartment, my dalmatian Chloe is very well behaved and have been 98% reliable indoors from the first week we had her.(She's five months very soon.) In the two days that we've been visiting at my parent's house, she has climbed onto and eliminate on, the living room couch and my parent's bed. It's very difficult keeping her in an nouns where we can easily supervise her, as she climbs right over baby gate and can open doors. I know that this behaivior is probably because of the stress of a new enviorment, but what can I do to soothe her insecurities and make go easier for us all, until Sunday?
try keeping her beside u, is this the first time she has been away from domestic, she is very insecure and does not know what is expected of her. try taking her out side for a walk and let her know that its adjectives right
I'm not a fan of the crate however I know that in situations similar to this the crate can be comforting. The dog is clearly upset and confused about her whereabouts. Try keeping her in her crate or her specific area [kitchen, one bedroom, etc] Hopefully this will engineer her feel more secure being that she solitary has to get used to a small area.
Answers: Dogs don't generalize well, your training as your dog sees it doesn't apply to the unsullied environment. You have to teach behaviors in several different environments/situations so that the dog info out the rules apply where ever it is.
Dog appeasing pheromones. Its a plug-in "air freshener". It will help soothe the dog's nerves. Works great on our dogs. I think within is also a spray you can put around the house.
