My dogs, a manly English mastiff and mannish Rott preserve digging.?
They keep digging up the same area contained by our yard, any idea's on how to prevent this.
dogs usually dig out of instinct, boredom, stress, or fun. reward attention to them and give them something fun to play with.
I make out that dogs that dig are usually frustrated. Try taking them for a good long work out put your foot, I have a Rottie and when I see him do that it is usually because he needs to draw from out and move and exercise.
find out whats under the ground in that spot maybe theres a pretext for them to do that.
Mark H, I haven't had any problems next to my english mastiff.
Answers: You are luckier than me, my English Mastiff loves to dig as well but she picks a different spot every time! Since your dogs are digging within the same area, you can make that nouns less attractive. You can spray the area next to a repellant such as bitter apple spray, which would have to be done daily until they learn to depart from the area alone. My greatest success has be to sprinkle red pepper in the hole. If you can watch them from a fanlight and catch them in the act, you will enjoy the best chance of making them understand exactly what it is that they are doing wrong.
If adjectives else fails, be grateful that it's only one area!
