MY LITTLE RAT TERRIER HAS LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT?
Good evening my, Terrier cattle dog Bella has lost a significant amount of weight and she seem to drink much more water and is always hungry. She is always feed and given treats. So i am wondering why this is happening. Can anybody help.
She could enjoy kidney problems, she could have worms, it could be any number of things. Keep in mind a dog losing one pound is equal to a human losing 10 pounds. Your dog wants to be checked by a vet and FAST. Something is very wrong. Make an appt ASAP!
You want to have blood work done on her to see what's going on. She may have diabetes or some other kind of physical problem. The meaningful weight loss would be enough for me to take her to the vet as soon as possible.
Answers: It sounds like your dog could enjoy an endocrine or metabolic disease. You should have her evaluated by a veterinarian. Have bloodwork done to assess all the internal organs, a urinalysis to assess kidney function, and possibly radiographs and maybe an abdominal ultrasound.
