My Yorkie's closing 2 nipples are flat, but full of milk, puppies can't nurse nearby, any serve?
Other nipples are fine, but the puppies keep nursing with those nipples. The nipples seem approaching do not have much milk there, but the last two are full of milk. I can take the milk out by squeezing the last 2 nipples very easily. I took her to the vet yesterday, the vet said the mother and the puppies are fine. So I wonder whether there is a problem still...
whether the vet said that the mother and the puppies are doing fine.. then they are doing fine then. If you think its a big problem later i guess you can bottle feed the puppies
Get a milker for the pups, or you can milk her yourself. You can milk the milk out of the nipples and into a bottle, it sounds like you will have to nurture the pups when those nipples are taken.
Also ask the vet for some doggie formula that you can keep at your house. Of course an eye dropper, suck the milk from the bottle and into the eye dropper, and feed the pups.
Most litters want to feed at around the same time, so when the other puppies start to feed, then they will want to, also. But contained by your case the nipples may be all taken up, leaving you next to some very hungry pups! You should feed the pups every once in a while.
Answers: It is natural for the pups to suckle from the more protruding ones. As the pups get bigger hours of daylight by day the piggy of the bunch will soon come across them and suckle on them. You may also choose the avid sucker of the bunch and pinch her flat nipple to plump it up and hold it like this while you plug the good eater on it. It will submit the mom some relief from the swollen full of milk boob..Anyway to help you relax keep this contained by mind pups suckle at least 20 minutes and then clutch a 10 minute break and start suckling again. If you see that a pup is suckling only ten minutes and then falling asleep and letting go of the nipple after keep and eye on this pup and wake him up and if stipulation be hold him by the scruff until he squawks and plug him back on it. Pups can sometimes refuse a nipple while letdown occurs=flow of milk became really swift. This can lead to a puppy fading away.So whether your dog will allow it manipulate things and then you can feel close to they are eating good and relax. If you notice a pup is a indolent eater just keep plugging it back on, soon resembling 2 days it will be strong enough to be a good eater like the rest of them. Have fun near your pups and be your mommy dog's assistant. There is nothing wrong with that and it is nice to see that you noticed and be concerned enough to put the question out there when you have some doubts and a bit of worry. On behalf of your mommy dog thank-you!
